@theinkedmommy, we got our chihuahua after dealing with the other dog that I didn't trust... she was really bad, she was possessive and tried to push her way between me and my nursing daughter, that was the last straw!

But my doxi needed a companion, so we got the chihuahua pup from a friend's accidental litter. So she is just 6 months younger than my little girl. My doxi is 3 years older.

@sadiesue0718, My husband had her before I ever met him, but she’s as sweet as she can be. The chihuahua isn’t ours, but my daughter loves her so much.

I love my little girls! My chihuahua grew up with her too. But since she is only 3 lbs. She tends to run and hide unless she’s on me, then she will give the toddler loves.

@sadiesue0718, My daughter is the same. She’s always sweet and gives them hugs and kisses. We have a Pitbull who loves her to death, and we have a chihuahua who’s grown up with her so they’re the best of friends.

@theinkedmommy, I’ve rehomed 2 of my own dogs because they couldn’t be trusted around kids, and that was before I had my daughter and one after.

Fritz, my doxi cross, I have NEVER had to worry about her with any kid, let alone my daughter. They constantly love on each other. She would climb up into the car seat to sleep with my daughter when she was a baby. My chihuahua just runs from my daughter, so again, I’ve never had to worry about my dogs, and my daughter learns what is “nice” and what is mean! She has never once pulled their ears or tales, she only pets them and tries to give hugs and kisses, and she only does it when mom is around. Which the dogs know I’m the head bitch of the house!

@sadiesue0718, I’m sorry you’re having to go through all of this stress! One thing that you shouldn’t have to worry about for sure is a dog biting your children.

@theinkedmommy, I have to kennel her too, because if she is left out she messes everywhere and if I shut her in sisters room she scratches at the door.

I'd have thrown her across the room had my sister not been there. Now with a baby on the way, they aren't staying much longer!

@sadiesue0718, She’d be missing ALL her teeth. I will always teach my child to respect animals, but if an animal bites her and she’s done nothing wrong they’re getting shot. Dogs can do serious damage, big or small!

She's only done it in front of my sister, or else she would be dead! The ONLY thing that has saved that dog is that she is missing teeth and has never broke the skin!

Her dog bites my toddler for no reason. The dog also sits and watches my pet rats like they are food and scratches at their cage. She whines all day and yipes if she is in the kennel. She messes in the house too, even though we have a dog door...
