Doctor told me yesterday that at 4 weeks I can start sleep training baby to sleep all night without feedings. I don’t know how I feel about that. I though babies didn’t sleep through the night until they were maybe a year old. Has anyone else heard of that or have an opinion?
The earliest it’s really recommended is 4m. Before that the concept of self soothing doesn’t exist for them. I just started sleep training my son this weekend and he’s 16 months. He’s taking to it really quickly I think because he was ready to do it. Ultimately it’s your call, but I would wait a bit. 1m baby still needs to eat often
I wouldn't expect them to sleep through the night til after 5 months at least...they go through a regression and then growth spurts and everything my daughter just started mayb a month ago but she's going through another regression now so is waking up 😒
I think it is really up to you and how your baby does with it. My son would not have it at all so I wasn’t going to force it. My oldest has always slept through the night since about 3 weeks. So I think every baby is different. Some might take to it and other will not.
I think he tried to get me to do that with my daughter but I refused because I was a stay at home mom but I will be going back to work with this baby.
@starienite, I really don’t know how to feel about it I mean it sounds liked heaven on earth but I don’t want to do anything bad for my baby. But I definitely trust my doctor he was my doctor as a child and we been my daughters doctor since she was born and he never steered me the wrong way
My son started sleeping through the night on his own at 4 months old
