Ladies who's children are in nursery or school what do you think about fines for being late? (And I mean repeatedly late…

At Brody's nursery you get fined if your 10mins late, 30mins late and they call the police I think? (Only if they can't get hold of you I'l add)

I think it's slightly over-the-top tbh, but then again if you don't let them know, and don't show when your suppose to, what message is it teaching your child? So at the same tbh i kinda agree on the rules in place.

@beffgoude call the police! Wow but I guess like you said if they can't get through to you then something could be potentially wrong. Is the fine a lot for 10 minutes? I'm like you I'm sitting on the fence. I think once in a while you shouldn't be fined but if you're always late then you should be

In 6th form if we had more than 3 lates in a term we wouldn't be given our ema 😂 safe to say I was never late and that was to school and to class @beffgoude

@mum2sky if I remember correctly I think it's only like a £5-£10 I think? Literally just what an hour would cost, and it's only cause staff can't go home etc cause they have to keep ratio of child to adult ok.

Yeh I mean. I've never been late and not told them, and it was only in last few weeks of being pregnant so they understood tbh cause I was struggling walking haha

@beffgoude oh thats not too bad I guess. That's completely fair. I think if you at least let them know before hand or if it's something like pregnancy or disability then you should be excused but if your reason isn't valid like oh I overslept every day then that's not on lol

@missashleyanne that's true. I think it comes down to the reason. Nursery is very sketchy because the kids are quite young and I just know skyla is going to give me trouble 😂

In my job I can't always leave on the dot. My childminder is 15 miles away from my work as well so sometimes there are things out of my control (accidents down the motorway) that make me late. This is one of the main reasons I didn't choose a nursery. If work is crazily busy then I can be late every night. I don't think parents should be charged for that. I somehow don't think my customers would be happy if I couldn't complete their paperwork on time and they risk not completing on their mortgage in time 😂😂

@catherineln25 But isn't it kind of the same principle? If you're late to collect your child or children from your child minder would you not pay her for the extra time she's spending with your kids? X

I work in a nursery and u always get the same parents who are late. You never leave when your ment to at the end of a the day. It gets so frustrating especially when they are really late and don’t let you know. We work 10hr days where I work so all you want to do is get home and you can’t. The odd time you understand parents will be late but when it’s everyday and some don’t even say sorry. It’s those parents who should be charged xx

@loular16 yeah I think it's so unfair on the people that work there if no warning is given. You have families aswell and the not saying sorry part is out of order x

Being someone who has to wait for late parents repeatedly. I fully agree with late pick up fees. Bad traffic etc can happen and the odd exception we let go. But repeatedly late pick ups are fined as they should be.

@mum2sky I always pay my childminder for 12 hours anyway which covers a) emergency care if we ever needed it and b) if I was late.. i have a daily rate to cover all of that :) so my daily rate is slightly higher to cover it all x

@mum2sky it's ok.. I think parents should pay but the nursery I looked at kicked you out after a few times and I couldn't risk tbat. Thankfully my childminder is extremely flexible. She takes my LG earlier if needed. Drops her off at home if im super late. She's an angel xx
