I need some advice mamas... I have a hard time sleeping on my left side. And from what I have heard it is the best for the baby. I can lay on my left side but when it is time to go to sleep, well I have to be on my right side. Every now and then I find myself sleeping on my stomach. Then that scares me so then I toss and turn the rest of the night so I will not get on my belly! What do I need to do? Starting my 5th month today Wednesday January 3rd! I can not believe I have made it this far!!

i prefer my right side as well.. i used to wake up on my back in the middle of the night. as long as you’re comfortable, don’t worry about it. but make sure you avoid belly & back as much as possible.. but do what’s comfortable!

I slept on whatever side was most comfortable that night. Usually my right side. And once we're asleep we have no control over how we lay. I was told that if there was a problem, like we wound up sleeping on our backs or whatever, our bodies wiuld feel weird and we'd wake up before any damage was done. Don't know how true that is, but it made me feel better about something I really couldn't control.

Thank you. It is scary and exciting at the same time!

I was told the same thing that nomli stated. For example if baby wasn’t getting enough oxygen because you’re on your back that your body will turn itself into a correct position. Our bodies are really smart things. I’m a right side sleeper too. Love it. Well I always wake up on my left side. Sometimes I fall a sleep on my back and once again will wake up on my left side.

I was told sleep how you feel is comfortable and you can sleep on your stomach. Alot of mommas do all the way to 30 weeks or so its allowed its more so not comfortable to.
I cant really sleep on my left side mostly my right an my back. I have bad nerves an circulation problems so being on my back helps alot.

- Getting sleep is the part that’s important.. If you can comfortably sleep on your belly then you’re fine. I’m a back sleeper but try not to. I find that if I wedge pillows under me, then I’m good. Now that I’m miserably uncomfortable, I’ll wedge my pillows under me and won’t move until I have to pee 😅 Also, sleeping on your back is said to cut off blood flow to the baby because it puts too much pressure; there are no studies showing sleeping on your back is dangerous. But sleeping on the left side is best. (:
