@kyleigh.e.h I would never recommend a csection by choice. I understand you had a traumatic expirience, but csections are no easier. My first I wasn't on the bed fully even after telling them 100 times and almost fell off. They didn't wait until i was numb to start prodding me. I have an extremely high pain tolerance and quick recovery and even with my daughter, the incision reopened and was weeks of unbearable pain. I couldn't enjoy my baby, couldn't enjoy my children my life was hell for weeks. Not hours.

@kyleigh.e.h All doctors would rather you tear a little bit then have to give you an episiotomy, but when we are talking severe tearing to a more extreme degree, they can foresee that when baby is crowning and then it is their sole choice to either A) give you one good incision to avoid severe tearing thats about to take place or B) let you tear and drag the process out. I'll tell you one thing... If it were me, I'd hope and pray to receive an incision instead of tearing everywhere. Once you get an incision its all over, baby pops out and you receive stitches. Its one clean cut, as opposed to tearing which can be a lot worse and timely. The fact of the matter is that you have already torn previously, your skin has already had the practice of stretching and is more elastic. You are very much less likely to tear this time around, and if you do it will most likely be in the same location(s) as your last tear(s) or it won't tear at all. I'd rather a clean cut if it came down to that decisiom, and its really not bad at all..It heals quickly and is much less painful. I'd have a nice convo with the doctor and discuss all of these points and come up with a birth plan for your own comfort and security.

@simplyshantell, I think my doctor is a firm believer in natural tearing she doesn’t do incision unless absolutely necessary but your right about asking the doctors I’ll definitely be doing that.

@badadvicemom this was my experience too. I've had to go under the knife multiple times, a c section was worse, then any of my surgeries. My stitches dissolved, and I have a perfect incision scar, but honestly I wouldn't ever want another c section again. Way too painful. Im happy I have a healthy baby.

I honestly loved my c section and I don’t even have a scar I was healed a week later I just need someone to help you for the first week

@kyleigh.e.h I would ask the doctor for an opinion on what the safest method for you and baby is in this situation given the circumstances where your hip injuries are concerned. The doctor should be able to tell you based on a comprehensive examination how things are going to go and what the best option for you is. The tearing this time wouldnt scare me too much. They will be able to see if youre about to tear and help you out to prevent that from happening or to give you a clean cut incision if it is necessary but I doubt that would have to happen.

@emijayden_7, the back labor isn’t the worst thing I’m worried about it’s the hip injuries I got from the birth. I wake up still some day an I can move out of bed because of tear I got in my hip sill hasn’t fully healed. Mine you I gave birth at 35 weeks my little man was 2 lbs over the average baby at his gestation age and I still tore all the way to my butthole sorry for the tmi and had lots of stitches. Let’s just say sex definitely doesn’t feel the same now after that.

I had 3 days of back labor. I would take that over a csection anyday.

@kyleigh.e.h, I know how bad back labor is because with my first I was in horrible pain with back labor and a failed epidural for 33 1/2 hours. I also had a failed epidural with my second. So I can understand now why you would opt for a c section. I have my ultrasound this week to see how much the baby weights. If she’s big I’m opting for a c section instead of trying for another vbac. I don’t want to have 4th degree tears and not be able to sit down and nerve damage in my vagina. Plus chance for uterine rupture and the baby getting stuck.

@shellbell0391, @emijayden_7, I know it’s pretty bad having a c section but my comment on why should explain why I’m asking I couldnt walk for weeks after having my vaginal birth I was in so much pain and still have consistent hip pain to this day. So I’m just trying to weight the my options right now I don’t really want to go through what I went through with my last pregnancy.

I know that the recovery for C-sections in comparison to delivering a baby vaginally is way more difficult and pretty damn painful. After I had him I was literally up 30 minutes after by myself, no hassle, no stitches no nothing. I'm grateful I got to experience birthing him naturally in comparison to having to spend (for some women) months without being able to get up properly and in pain, depending on the person, and having to deal with scaring and stitches. I'd always choose vaginal over c-section given the choice. @kyleigh.e.h Being told to hold your baby in because the doctor is unavailable is unethical on top of unprofessional. Labor is labor and when you need to push it needs to happen, period. They tell a lot of numbed women to try to hold it until the doctor gets there and because they can't feel the contractions enough to get strong urges to push they have an easier time, but not when you can feel everything and an epidural doesnt work 😳

I also had an emergency c-section. Mines however was at 39 weeks with a healthy 6.5 baby boy. The healing process went well. I had dissolvable stitches and my scar is barely noticeable. On the contrary, I would have preferred a vaginal birth. I still have numbness where my incision is.

Never heard of anyone choosing a c section "just because" .. I don't believe u can even choose that from what I've heard but I know all doctors r different so who knows lol

@badadvicemom, I had a pretty bad birthing experience with my vagina birth. My son was born early for medical reason so I was induced. But I have several failed epidural pretty much was crying in pain from have back-labor the entire time. I ended up having several hip injury. I got a labral tear and dislocated hip. I tore pretty severely and actually was told to hold my baby in by the nurses because the doctor on call was still 30 minutes away.

The recovery is really terrible with a c section. When you want to be able to get up and get your baby or change his diaper or swaddle him you can’t even get out of bed. I could not move, couldn’t pull myself up, couldn’t sit up, couldn’t get out of bed or sit in a chair and get back up. It got better but omg and then my incision opened back up. I wouldn’t recommend it

I had an emergency c section with my first baby and it was a million times worse than my vbac. The healing process was sooo much easier with my vbac. But he was also only 4lbs 10oz for being born at 32 weeks. I had no stitches down there. I know some girls can get 4th degree tears and it feel worse than a c section.
