How do you mommies take temp? I'm getting a 99.3 reading underarm and w/ adding a degree makes 100.3 but I always heard rectal is most accurate but I'm scared to do it to her!

Rectal is what they usually do in the hospitals for the most accurate temperature .
I had one from cvs that is specifically a rectal thermometer, it can't go in too far. Now it's easier to use the forehead one, though. For a while we did both to see how accurate it was, and the forehead and rectal were usually about the same.
They sell thermometers made specifically for booty temps, I have one and it’s made to not go in very far. You only but it in a tiny bit
I always take my son’s temp up the butt he clenches at first but then just lays there and let’s me do it
I Do rectal n exactly what @twinmomma2b, said but i put some vaseline on it so it goes in smoother..
@babyking1 I use the regular thermometer that the NICU sent home with each of my babies. They told me to just put the metal looking part in not any further. I didn't ask why or anythinf.
@twinmomma2b, how far do u have to insert it? Can you use an underarm thermometer rectally?
I take their temp rectally. I put them on their tummy in my lap and rock them on my rocking chair patting their back so they aren't too uncomfortable and move cause I'm scared of hurting them lol

So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
