How many mommas do the cry it out method? And how do you do it? I can't stand to hear her cry but everyone I talk to including the doctor tell me it's ok and healthy to let her cry sometimes. I want her to learn to do things by herself like go to sleep.

@avasmommy808, my son does that shit all the time because my inlaws rush over to him for every little thing

@fasciamom it kinda seems that she's already figured that out. She'll fuss until I pick her up and if she sees somebody she'll smile at them but make sure I only hear her fussing. Looking at that person like "ha I got my way"

You don’t want to do it before 6 months because it’s psychologically damaging. Up til that point they only understand that they’re telling you they need something and no one is helping them. At around 6 months their personality starts to develop and they realize “if I do this, I get this”

@avasmommy808, my daughter won't take a binky either. She has to pacify on me. I still breastfeed. I'm co sleeping so I can get some sleep too. But I must break this habit. I hate hearing her cry tho. I'm the one that won't last. Ugh

@coffeewitch ava doesn't use binkys very much. She just spits them back out and finds something else to do. Maybe I can find something for her to be her "security".

We didn’t start the CIO method until 7-9 months. But every kid is different, so sometimes I knew when my son was crying it’s was because he’s tired. We started slow, like waiting 2 minutes and then going in and giving him a hug, making sure he didn’t need a bottle or diaper change and then going on from there.

I always suggest to moms to read the book “Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child.”

It’s helped me so much with my son. Now I put him to sleep with no issues. I put him down in his crib when he’s sleepy and he falls asleep by himself. If he wakes up in the middle of the night, he goes right back down on his own.

I bought the book on my phone so I can read it wherever I am! Highly recommend it!! Good luck momma!

I wait about five minutes before going to him. But I don’t pick him up! I’ll fix his pacifier and rub his stomach or head and then I’ll leave him again. As long as he doesn’t need anything this works after 3 or so “visits”. I also let him hold this bear/blanket thing. It soothes him when I’m not there.
