Need to start looking into long term birth control, tying my tubes is NOT an option though😌

I had absolute no problems with being on depo. I had no weight gain, no period, no mood swings. I managed to not get pregnant on it either. I would have stayed on it longer if it didn’t cause the bone loss.

Paraguard has some pros and cons just like any other birth control. One of the pros that yes it is supposed to be non hormonal. But it is also not recommend for women who have very heavy periods normally or cramping because it will make it worse from the copper wiring.

@krisfreeman I know so many people who have it and they say it's great at preventing pregnancy and have no issue with it other then some mild cramping and some heavier bleeding.

@keelygeedy I was just reading up on that. Bleeding is a lot heavier with that brand 😕

Make sure to do a lot of research and know you have to check it every month to make sure it's in the right place so it's not AS care free as say DEPO or implant, but hormones not worth it for me. I have PCOS so anything messing with my body chemistry stirs up issues

I would watch with depo. My doctor wanted me to switch BC after being on depo for 4 1/2 years due to depo can cause bone loss.

The Paraguard is a copper IUD 100% non hormonal and what I am going with after this guy's born. Good up to 13 years and for me the no hormones is biggest deal. I am super sensitive. It's definitely not for everyone, I've heard some scary stories, but it's worth the shot for me.

I'm having essure done next month. It's permanent. I've been through having a tubal, then last year having it reversed because my husband didn't have any children of his own, and my husband didn't want me to have another surgery so we decided on essure.

@tavi.young I had Nexplanon before. My period was horribly irregular & super heavy, after having it in almost 2 years, it was almost embedded in my muscle & although I got pregnant 5 months after removal, I miscarried and it took 6 more months to conceive again. The day after removal, I started bleeding immediately... like REALLY bad. I will read up on other implants/IUDs though. TY 😊

@amberyoung8300 wow ! Well I'm pretty good at keeping up with appointments & such. Especially if it keeps me from having another kid lol

@krisfreeman, yea definitely try it for a few rounds. The first round, it takes time for your body to get used to it like everything else. My friend did get pregnant by being a day late on her shot.

@amberyoung8300 it took almost a year to get pregnant with my daughter after the Nexplanon too. But I don't want anymore kids for at least 2 or 3 years so I'll try it out. TY so much.

Only con, it took almost a year to get pregnant after. Oh and when my shot was close to due, I would get bitchy.

Pros... no period, never failed me, felt like normal. The shots don’t hurt either unless they hit muscle. Get it every 3 months. My oldest is on it too
