I get putting your babies first but I think it's horrible to give your pets away to someone else after they've already gotten used to you. 🤷🏻‍♀️ i hated when people would do this because then the dog thinks they got abandoned..

Ur asking me ? I cant stand dogs anymore they dirt and they stink even when they get showered and i see alot of woman who think is ok for a dog to lick thier newborn child but thats my opinion

@mommyof1boyy, oh wow! That’s amazing all the while I don’t think I could do it I guess mainly because of my own allergies. My uncles wife has two cats and they have been there the whole time with their babies too. I believe it’s jus something I don’t understand how it works but I see that it is possible. I do want to get a puppy though

@libra2extra92, I’ve had my dog for three years and I have a two year old, he was their when I brought my son home from the hospital and we have had him since he was 6 months old (the dog), he slept under his crib and with him in bed, he’s never bitten him before, he taught him how to walk, protects him. I even have two cats I also had when my son came home, they slept with him in his bassinet and cuddle with him and they don’t scratch him because I taught my son how to be nice to the animals.

@libra2extra92, kids and pets are amazing together. They can turn out to be best friends. Lots of positives from having kids around animals.

@mommyof1boyy, I agree with that part. I was just told and I believe also when the babies are so small shouldn’t be around the animals. But yes I can see how that would be cruel so I wouldn’t even have them in the first place until the baby is a little older.

@libra2extra92, than don’t get a cat lol getting an animal just to re-home it when you have kids is obsurd. Pets should ever be adopted if they are just going to be given away. It’s wrong and it’s cruel.

I think if its just because you feel overwhelmed with the new baby or some dumb reason like that than yeah its wrong in my opinion but if the dog is really just not good around babies than its better for everyone to re home the dog, not just taking it to a shelter but actually finding a good home for the dog.

@scx327, when my son was little I took him to the dog park with me and an old lady told me I should have gotten rid of my dog when I was pregnant and I responded with “we are actually thinking about getting another dog and re-homing the baby” 😂

We had to re home our pit while ago. He was a great dog but he was very hyper around everyone and we felt he wouldn’t have been a good fit for us when the baby was born. Hardest decision of my life. But we got another dog a few weeks ago (and older dog) and he’s been such a good fit for the baby. And people think we’re horrible human beings for getting a new dog.

@mommyof1boyy, exactly. Like why get a pet if you're just going to give him away later? And yes, training does go a long way but people just don't want to put in the work. But it's totally worth it 🙂 I'm glad someone agrees !

@scx327, I agree with you! Animals are family! I have three and a two year old, never even thought about getting rid of them because of a baby. Lots of training goes a long way 🤦🏼‍♀️🙏🏼

@libra2extra92, actually animals being around kids helps to build the immune system and usually stops a child from developing an animal allergy lol

That’s crazy. And that’s the right thing to do! Idk what those people are thinking! It isn’t good for babies to be around pets when they are so young especially cats. Idk why ppl think it’s ok
