So me and the Bf decided since we are going to Jamaica on vacation we will get married there aswell. My side of the family is cool with it and no one is really coming which im happy with. His side of the family is trying to make is feel guilty for going especially his mother. They cant make it and are trying to force us to do it here in Ontario instead. Would you just do it here to appease the mother although you wouldnt be happy or would you just go an do it in Jamaica anyways??

Just go and do it and Jamaica it’s your day. And when you get back rent a hall and have a reception in Ontario. That way your family can celebrate too and have all the pictures and stuff with you, but you will still have the day you wanted with your man

Do you think it's weird some families make their baby boy wear a gown for their baptism?
We got married in the Dominican but we had a “wedding party” in Manitoba a couple months before we went and did a sand ceremony, a bunch of food and booze. Some people still came to the wedding but most couldn’t make it financially so at least they got to celebrate with us for one day
