When did you start your kid out in a toddler bed? All my son's toys are now in his room. And hubby wants to transition him into a toddler bed, but I'd feel safer if I had a video monitor first. Opinions? He is almost 1yr 8months old.

@kyntonsmommy, no no, keep his toys in there. He will get up and need something to do..
@kkmamax3 I don't have a way to keep the toys out of reach. I'd put them in his closet but he doesn't have a door on it (the owner won't replace it) but his clothes and shoes don't stay in his room. And his door is usually shut at night.
We switched both my girls at 18 months.
It was hard for the first couple of days. They have to get used to it, it’s a new freedom
My recommendations; (this is from me doing it 2 times)
Don’t leave any clothes, shoes, etc out.. they will throw them all on the floor.
Make sure you have all plugs covered
They will get up and play, let them.
They will lay down when they are ready.
They will cry at first but just let them figure it out. I always did 10-15 minutes tops
I also let them pick out their own bed set to make them feel like a “big kid”
