In a few short days I will be going into the hospital to be induced. I have decisions to make and need suggestions. Epidural or IV pain medicine?
@ashbryant0094, tbh I do have slight pain now I’m guessing from the epidural when I’m bent over for too long, like when I put my baby in her crib and I’m still leaning over for a while to make sure she stays or if I’m standing for too long in the same place my lower back hurts badly. But still I do feel like epidural was worth it
@ashbryant0094, lol the pushing part many woman poop on epidural or not I’m one of them need free and still did 😩 it happens so fast but they clean up so fast it’s like it never happened
@4littlehulbuttas, ah!! So you’re more than likely not to rip with IV meds??
I had both and the IV pain meds lasted about 3 hours for me. I liked the epidural but I think I recovered fast without the epidural. Plus I ripped with the epidural.
@mommytotheo, I’m also worried about not being able to control where I’m pushing from, if that makes sense...💩
I had both I don't think the iv pain meds work to good. It lasted for 15 mins and I could still feel every contraction happening. I loved epidural I couldn't hardly feel anything just pressure when I knew it was tone to push. I haven't had any back pain yet from it and I was able to get up and go pee right after they took it out of me.
@karinecastrejon, I’m leaning towards the epidural. But I’ve heard horror stories about having back pain from the epidural. Like even two years later. I guess I’m just getting nervous
I loved how amazing the iv pain meds make you feel. But only for about 20 minutes lol but you can’t get another dose as soon as it wears off, Only every hour you can. I waited as long as I could then was like fck it I need the epidural lol and after that I felt amazing and was able to sleep until I had to push 😅
@ashbryant0094 not sure if having the IV pain meds was the reason why I didn't rip, but I had the epidural with my 2 oldest and ripped with both of them. Plus I have pain in my back from having the epidural.
