Any moms know about preeclampsia? I generally don't freak out easily, but my feet have swollen a lot in the last 2 days. Indentation left if I press down. Some dizziness and blurred vision. Called nurse to make sure I wasn't overreacting to normal end of pregnancy swelling, she says go in and get seen right away (she didn't see swelling). I don't know if I should be concerned and go in? Don't want to waste Christmas eve. Please any advice is welcome! Picture of swelling in the comments.

@tavi.young, good I’m glad! Her BP was HORRIBLE every single OB visit. She had major red flags so it actually pisses me off that they missed it. I’m glad you only have minor signs (even if you don’t have it). Cause if they miss it, you’re not likely to suffer because of them missing it.

@brianne That sounds awful! I'm so glad they are both okay! I went in, they got as far as putting me in pre op in case I needed a C-section but I was 36w so when my pressure came down they decided against it. My highest BP was 169/103, but no protein in urine then swelling and pressure went down, really weird. Was discharged and told to monitor BP at home. So far so good!(: Just waiting on this little guy to make an appearance, hopefully all healthy!

Preeclampsia is NOTHING to mess with. I’d rather go in and be told I’m overreacting than end up with issues. My SIL has her son at 34 weeks by being induced cause they FINALLY caught her preeclampsia. She’d been having lots of signs and red flags but no matter how many times they s would monitor or run tests, they’d miss it somehow. She was told if her son had taken even 24 more hours to be born, they both would have died. Luckily they’re both doing great.

@tavi.young well, I'm only 34 weeks and my hospital didn't have a NICU, so I don't think you'll have to worry about my first half, which was stabilizing my BP for transportation. But what brought me in, was an ocular migraine, sure blurry vision in one eye, followed by an abnormally painful headache. I got checked in, and iv in and meds to control my BP, plus my usual pills. Mine was more preexisting high blood pressure than preeclampsia, which they have officially decided I now have.

It really depends on how bad your BP is, how the baby is doing, and the wait and see method. Lol. How are you feeling?

@halifax6 Oh girl I'm so sorry! Hubby's will keep us sane. How did it go for you when you were first admitted? What should I expect? What's the plan?

@tavi.young I agree! Been here since Friday! There was hope I might go home tomorrow, but after my BP spiked, I'm not sure anymore. I am stable now though... Yay... Plus it's icy and I'm at a hospital 45 minutes away because they have a NICU, and my family can't really drive to come see me. Thankfully my husband is here. Merry Christmas!

As someone who is currently hosoitalized for high BP and preeclampsia, I highly suggest going in. The ocular migraine I had and headache boosted the severity of my status so, I really suggest getting it checked. Christmas eve or not. Keep me posted !! Good luck

@jessicavillanueva92 Right that's what I was thinking too. I'm just so scared because my insurance is terrible about ER visits and it's Christmas eve. I want to do what's best for my baby but I don't want to get turned away and just told "that's pregnancy"

@tavi.young I would go since they had found traces on your last visit. It may have just started then, but wasn't enough to alarm them and give a positive.

Has anything else gotten swollen in the last couple days? Face, hands, legs? Also have you had headaches? Those are usually red flags. But those are also a lot of symptoms late in pregnancy anyways. So it’s hard to tell without a blood pressure reading or a urine test for protein.

Those are very swollen. I would go in just in case since your vision has been effected! They can check your blood pressure and see pretty much right away if it’s preeclampsia!

I would go just in case. Better safe than sorry and better today than end up having to go in if it gets worse tomorrow.
