I was up to 2:30am cleaning and puttering around the house. Hubby has kindly volunteered to pick up the last few food items we need for the holidays so I don’t have to get dressed quite yet. (Nursing a headache right now).
Gonna bake some butter tarts when he returns and then drop off cookies for clients with the Little One in tow.
Then we are crashing at mum’s and the drinking of sorrel and Guinness punch begins 🥃🎄🎄🎉
Where are you guys at with your holiday prep?
@starting_over39, still pouting! The cookie recipe is easy. Absolutely delicious. Plus you can double it easy. Everyone has said I need to keep this one on the yearly list 👍🏽
@starting_over39, They love to pile those home plates sky high so I know your pain lol
Oh yes after all that hard work I don't want to cook another meal for a few days lol.. But hubby like to give take home plates 🙄 lol and then says; oh no more food.. Food done 🤔 so it go in his yardie accent lmbo.. I just look at him side eye 👀 are you for real man 😂 @sunshyne76
@starting_over39, Okay now we have to fight! You know how long since I’ve had nice snapper 😩😩😩 We can’t have any fish or seafood around as my brother is allergic to it. Even the smell will cause a reaction. Now I am pouting
I forgot I bought snapper since I don't eat meat I bought like 6 whole red snapper to stuff with coq soup mix and place nicely in foil baked in the oven 🤗
@starting_over39, 😂😂😂😂 Hilarious if you don’t have any leftovers. Mum and I made black cake a few weeks ago so I can’t wait to see if they turned out well!
Goat, oxtail, turkey, macaroni pie, rice and peas, cranberry sauce, stuffing, lasagna, salad, potato salad and sometimes soup depending. Dessert: black cake (rum cake) coconut loaf, apple pie with ice cream and maybe a peach cobbler 😀... Crossing my fingers this year that I'll have left overs 😂😂😂
@starting_over39, Here is the direct link. The only changes I make is I add a bit of lemon zest to the flour and lemon juice in addition to vanilla. Refrigerate the dough for a half an hour to make it easier to handle since it is quite sticky.

@starting_over39, What do you guys cook for Christmas? I love getting ideas from others
@starting_over39, Nice! I love sorrel too. My husband makes the Guinness punch and I use it to make drunken French toast for Christmas morning 😁
@starting_over39, That is sooo great the kids are old enough to help tidy up! I can’t wait until that stage lol. I normally bake for our neighbors too but this child has slowed me down this year and my neighbors have left already for the Christmas season.
I have a really nice cream cheese cookie that I tried for the first time this year. It’s been a great hit! Do you have Pinterest? Because I can post the link if you do. If not I can copy and paste 😊
Love me some Sorrel and hubby makes it so good.. I'll be baking a few coconut loaves as well
Heading to the grocery store to pick up remaining items, kids are cleaning the house well upstairs bedrooms mainly and bathroom. As my brother in law is coming to spend a few days here for the Christmas holiday from Jamaica and a few other guests will be coming over this weekend and Christmas. So today I have to start baking cookies for neighbors etc.. Hope your headache subsides soon @sunshyne76 oh if you know a good cookie recipe do send it my way 😁 I will give all credit to you
