So being that I turned 21 I have to get a Pap smear in two weeks😐 what are they like? I’m so nervous…

They’re routine on your OB’s pregnancy screening tests..

@melody_momof5, @brownsugarluv, hmm from what I know I’ve never had one? I know here at least they don’t do one until you’re 21, but they never did one in my first trimester with either pregnancy.

Ima just say, I like a male doc over a female. They are way more gentle. It’s really not that bad.

In Arizona they don't do it until you're 21, I didn't get one with my son but I did get one with this pregnancy it kinda hurts well but it feels weird and cold lol.

They take a swab of your cervix so you’ll lie back and the put this speculum in and go to town it’s pretty fast

@melody_momof5, when I started dating my boyfriend at 16 my mom took me to go get birth control and she wanted them to do a Pap smear but they refused to do it because you have to be 21 in Arizona, I thought that’s how it was everywhere tbh

A lot of places have an age restriction. And it’s recommended to test after being sexually actively for 3 years..

Nah yall in my area its the same, when a woman turns 21 they get their 1st pap (instead of when u start being sexually active or pregnant) anyways same here girl but idk what to tell u, I still haven't gotten one yet cus im scared 😩

Mine is in two weeks too! What date is yours? I also get my bc out too.

@raquely, I guess it’s different everywhere, even if you’re under 21 and pregnant they won’t do a Pap smear here. I’m not sure why it’s like that, and hopefully it won’t be awkward. You’d think since I’ve already had a baby it wouldn’t be a big deal but it’s still always awkward for me lol
