So question. Idk if anyone really knows the answer but beginning of the year I won full custody of my son by default (his father never answered the court summons). Now his father is trying to file for custody. He is a registered sex offender but I did ask a lawyer and they said since he's on the bc he still has rights to visitation if he pursues it. I just want to know what the odds are of him getting visitation rights. I have proof of him slandering me on fb, his family has brought false charges of abuse on me 4 times and they were all dropped right away and they were constantly poisoning his mind against me until I took him a few weeks ago for good. Also my son will tell me his dad purposely taught him several cuss words which he also did when I was still with him.

They're going to look at what he did to the child, not you. Since you won by default, did he file to vacate the judgement or is filing a whole new suite.

@badadvicemom he's filing a whole new suit I think. He's purposely keeping exactly what he's doing from me except that he's filing for custody

It would have to be monitored visits if they grant him visitations. With him being a sex offender they would not allow solo visits.

@lovelily That's what I thought too. And that's why he's got his panties in a wad to begin with. I got tired of the bs and finally told him my son won't be going over to his folks anymore, they can meet me somewhere public which I think was quite reasonable considering everything they've done

With his crime, was the victim a minor? Do you know exactly what he was charged with?
Deleted·
@lovelily not quite. There are exceptions to every rule. Even that one.

@badadvicemom child pornography of small children to young teens. Even tho he has messed with minor girls it was never proven in court

Most likely supervised visits

Oh honey I am so sorry :( Unless the offense was against your children, he still has rights as long as he's following protocol. I am so sorry :(

@ambermariee @tavi.young That really does suck. He told me 2 years ago he doesn't care what happens to his son he just wants to make me miserable and he's made sure he's done that since as far as my son is concerned

@twice_blessed hopefully things get better for you!
