Can you sweep your baby's feet to get them to start walking?

What is sweeping baby’s feet? An why would you want to force baby to walk before he/she is ready?

@carrsonsmommy, I don’t think she’s trying to force anything just helping her baby along what do you think tummy time is? It helps your baby get stronger lift their head flip etc

Well I’ve heard it is being a old superstition type thing.. where parents would sweep their children’s legs/feet with a broom and soon the baby will start walking. I’ve had a couple friends who said they’ve tried it and within that next week their child was walking and one of them even had a child who had club foot and wasn’t said to be walking until age of 4 and he was walking at 2.

I’m not trying to force my son to walk. He can hold his balance and will walk just fine as long as you hold his hand. I admit I’m ready for him to walk but I was just wondering would it help him?
