OK Here goes

I had my period November 26th ended the 1st 7 days ... My cycle days are 20 to 21 which is weird because they were always 28 day cycles ... Well it said to start testing with ovulation kits on cycle day 5 to see when I start ... I didn't because I don't normally do that I just DD every other day .. I had a pap dome Yesterday on the 13th and she said I had a lot of mucus and That either I'm getting ready to ovulate or I'm pregnant. . She suggested I get ovulation kits and take them through the rest of the day and today and see what happens and idk how to tell but I do know my period is due in 2 or 3 days so how would I have ovulated this close to my period ? And we DD 3 days ago so is there any chance this month or is it all messed up ...:(
