Its selfish the kids don't know the difference unless you teach them. You're not better than anyone else just because of what you wear or what your kids wear. It makes you look stupid for playing into brands. It's okay to buy nice things for your kids if YOU ALREADY HAVE EVERYTHING ELSE taken care of. But when you are crying that your baby daddy isn't giving you attention because he resents you for working his ass off to support you and baby, I don't want to hear it. When you spent all your money and don't have food because you didn't plan ahead, I don't want to hear it. If you get food stamps, then separate 5 boxes of wine off and 3 cases of beer from your grocery line and pay for it separately, I don't want to hear how HARD it is for you to make it week to week.

@johnsonarriel24 there's nothing wrong with pampering yourself. It just says a lot about a person if they're looking clean and put together but their aren't.

@masonsmomster yea I know....i jus feel like all that is extra...plus my weight switches up so much.might buy something then it don't fit for 6months! Plus I'm not working right na. So whatever I get goes straight to my family. But never the less I look good in the stuff I already own so it's no logical reason in my case lol...unless it's my bday!

@johnsonarriel24 I'm with you! Family comes first. Everyone makes mistakes and needs help sometimes, but these women who consistently have the SAME issues need to realize that something's gotta give. It better not be their kids' quality of life. My SO and I have less clothes combined that what has been given and that we have bought for baby. He is taking a huge career risk and jump to make sure we don't have to struggle. Not everyone is that lucky, but in my area, formula is locked up behind the counter because women sell the formula they get from WIC for booze and drugs. I had a pregnant woman ask me for a ride and when I was about to help her, she tried to mug me because the methadone clinic was down the street. It is sad and pathetic.

@johnsonarriel24 Yeah, I live in Saint Louis area...generational poverty and lack of education plays a huge role. But, for me personally, nothing comes before family.
