Apparently there’s a viral infection going around called “Fifths Disease.” My poor son caught it, and I thought he had an allergic reaction. Apparently the red, blotchy face means they aren’t contagious anymore. He’s had it for a week with no symptoms. Make sure to wash your little one’s hands constantly!
Yuck. I got 5ths disease when I was pregnant a littke over 3years ago. It was not fun. Hope he feels better.
@robbyanne1, Like I said, I was just concerned and trying to be helpful. Glad he’s doing better, have a good night!
@jordyn_beth, Probably not contagious? Since you did research you would know that the rash on his face means he is no longer contagious.
@robbyanne1, I’m sorry I’ve made you upset. I’ve seen the studies showing the correlations, and I figured it’s better safe than sorry. I was just trying to help. Since he’s probably not contagious and your doctor is not concerned, that’s good!
@jordyn_beth, For one, I spoke with a doctor about it since my sister in law is pregnant. Two, good for you for going to school. I’m not an expert, but when it comes to a doctor telling me versus a college student who did research, I’m going to go with the doctor.
@robbyanne1, usually because most children get it and don’t show symptoms, but some people may never have it. It’s not super common, but it could lead to severe intellectual developmental disabilities. We had to do research on it for one of my classes. I’m by no means an expert, but I’ve looked into it
@jordyn_beth, actually most adults don’t contract it, just children. A pregnant lady who gets it will not harm her fetus.
@sunflowerchildmamaa, thank you!!
