Been visiting my 88 year old great grandma in the hospital everyday because she refused to eat and now her body’s shutting down. I’ve had time to cope and come to peace with it but now hubby just called from work saying his 67 year old grandma was found unresponsive in her home and it’s not looking good. We just saw her yesterday and she was doing great! I don’t know what to tell our daughter... she now has 2 dying grandmothers and no idea what death is and my hormonal self can’t stop crying long enough to talk to her about it😫 how do you tell your kid you’re on your way to go see someone for the last time?

Sorry You and your family are going through that !! But I think the easiest way to explain to a child is telling them that they both will be in heaven always looking down on her ❤️

I’m so sorry. When I was five we lost my great grandfather. They just explained to me that he had been old and his body couldn’t live anymore, so he died and went to heaven. We didn’t go to the funeral service, though.

I'm so sorry I'd just say she's in heaven she was in pain so God brought her home now she gets to watch her play from heaven and she's happy and pain free

@layyy, @yazhiyahsmuva, @nomli, @toshagager1988, thanks ladies! Since she’s still on a ventilator, I just told her she was sleeping (for now). When the time comes to unplug her, I’ll tell her about heaven. Hubby’s in denial and hoping for some sort of miracle so I guess I’ll give him the same reassurance. 😇

It could happen!! My grandmother was on a ventilator at one point, and my dad braced us for the worst, as even the doctors thought it was the end. She wound up getting better and going home! More than once she beat the odds, actually.

They found her will and it stated she didn’t want to be resuscitated. They decided to just keep her on the ventilator since she was already resuscitated at that point but I just got the call she went into cardiac arrest and they let her go😔. They haven’t figured out why she stopped breathing in the first place so that’s a little hard to swallow but I know this is what she wanted. Thank you ladies for your prayers! It means a lot ❤️
