When did you moms put your kids in a "big kid" bed? I'm due in May and was going to put our son in a twin, and have the baby use the crib since my son rarely did lol. He hates feeling trapped, restrained... So when he would wake up in the crib he would cry for us. But when he wakes up while in bed, he slides off, plays with his toys, and then comes back to bed. In May my son will be 19 months. Just wanna hear different experiences/thoughts.

@sarisings, oh good! When we move we’re thinking of giving our son our bed which is a full since he moves around a lot. He’s always all over the bed lol. But I hope everything works out!
@sami.massie That's great, we would have turned the crib into a toddler if we didn't have another on the way. But I found the exact brand/model as our crib, in a twin so that's what we're going with.
My son is 20 months and he’s been in a toddler bed for a few months now. He hated the crib. Wouldn’t even go in it without clinging to us and screaming. But the moment we converted it, he will now sleep in it. Granted he still sleeps in bed with us but if we decide we want him to go into his bed one night he will(like last night)

At what age did you put your kid in a toddler bed? My son started climbing out of his so I put the mattress on the floor. Well that worked for about a month and now he has realized that he can move his crib and crawl under it. I laid him down for a nap today and I was cleaning and and out comes Taylor. Idk what to do.
How many of you waiting to use a crib till they got older my son will wake up every 3 hours in it crying he hates it but I put him in it every time he passes out should be used to it by now but if he doesn't sleep in it he will sleep like 7 hours at a time
When did you all switch your crib in to a toddlers bed? My son never slept in a crib so I am not sure he went from a bassinet to a pack and play to a bed 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ so I want to know when to transition my daughter for a bed.
Mine will be 14 months apart. We decided to wait on the toddler bed for her even though the baby is going to be in a bassinet in our room for a few months. And bought a second crib. Our plan is to keep them in toddler beds as long as we can then go to bunk beds when they get older due to the size of their bedroom.
