Question(s)..
Please help...
And this may be a semi-long post to give some info along with my questions...

I'm a first time mom who was blessed with an amazing baby. She will be 7 weeks old on Thursday, and from day one she's been perfect. A really good baby, with no problems or issues. When she cries, it's always been for obvious reasons. Hungry, needs a diaper change, wants to be up and cuddled for a bit, but soon as she looks tired she's been easy to just lay down for sleep.
But the last several days we've finally had some problems..

She's started pooping only once a day (hasn't pooped at all today yet). When she was pooping atleast 3 to 4 times or more. So has had some gas pains. The gas drops have worked wonders though.

So first question: do you think her pooping only once a day is causing some of this discomfort? And is there anything else I can do?

The last two nights she continues to scream and cry even after the drops, and despite looking exhausted, has been harder to put down to sleep. Continues to scream and cry.
Someone mentioned to me that their son did this every time he hit a growth spurt.. which she's definitely had this past week (outgrew her NB clothes in a matter of days).

So second: could that be causing some of this? Or something else..?

A bit more info: she is formula fed, but had been since a week or 2 old.. so i wouldn't think it could be the formula, though I could be wrong.. I really just don't know.
Almost 7 weeks old.
While the gas drops worked great a few times, the last 2 they almost didn't seem to do anything.

Any info, tips, or others experiences, or even just some support from other moms would be greatly appreciated.. we were all doing so great. Her and me and her father.. but we are just frustrated, and feel horrible that we don't know what to do.. I thought I had this mommy thing down.. but not knowing and feeling bad that she's been so upset has gotten me really down... :(

Sorry for the long post.. I just don't know what to do..

@hmonday08, you’re welcome! I know how you feel and sometimes we think it’s our fault when it’s completely out of our control. I’m glad to hear you’re calling the doctor, better safe then sorry is what I usually say about doctors. Plus you’re the mom, so you know when something is wrong with your baby and if you’re asking for help it’s better to ask someone who’s helped enough babies and kids to know what to do and how to fix it:) Good luck and I hope you find out what’s wrong!

@jasthorpe413 I've been doing that.. if nothing else, it seems to help her belly pain some. We did have her on a great schedule.. I do typically try to make her stay up a bit longer before bed.. tonight not so bad, but the previous 2 nights she was up for about 5 hours before she would sleep.. even tho it became super obvious she was really tired.. I think I'm just going to go ahead and call hè doctor tomorrow just in case..

@shellbell0391 thank you! The only thing I haven't tried is the carrier. Her nightly routine has involved being swaddled and having her white noise machine turned on since almost day one. It's just the past few nights that that h asnt worked too well. It still works for her naps, but not at night.
And her poop has been soft.. well, there was one nigjt where it was soft, but seemed to be a bit more "solid" than usual.. not really solid, but not how it usually is.. I did try the thermometer thing once with no success.. so yes, I'll def call her doctor

Try putting her knees together and pushing(not hard) her knees to her chest it will get her bowels moving I have to do that with my son some times and as for the sleep she may just be needing a schedule like staying awake longer before bed time

Also if her poop is soft when she poops then she’s not constipated. You can try this thing called windi, it’s a small tube you stick up the babies booty and it helps relieve trapped gas. Or you could use a thermometer with some Vaseline on it. Sometimes doing that will stimulate their little booty hole and they’ll let out a poop. Just don’t do it a lot

Just remember it’s not your fault of your significant others fault that your baby isn’t feeling well. Stuff happens, and you just need to adapt. Stay positive, I’m sure you’ll find out what’s wrong and soon you’ll forget that it was even an issue:)

When my son turned like 6 weeks he NEVER slept. Omg it drove me crazy he’d fight sleep soooo hard. I can’t remember when he started pooping once a day but it was early. What your baby is going thru is totally normal. Try swaddle, white noise, a baby carrier. Sometimes the only way my son would go to sleep is if I wrapped him to me and carried him around in the moby wrap. I remember my dr saying their fussiness peaked between 6-8 weeks so hang in there!!!

I would definitely contact your doctor, they’ve seen all kinds of different things and know what to do. She might be getting backed up from the type of formula you use as well. She could have been perfectly fine with it and developed some kind of resistance to it. My daughter eats breast milk (I pump exclusively) and she had similar issues along with spitting up. We took her to the doctor and they said to try cutting dairy out of my food intake and see if it helped. She is a completely different baby and is much better. Maybe there
Is something in he formula you are using that she is sensitive to. Try switching to a different formula that is for gassy babies or sensitive babies and see if that helps. I would still call the doctor as soon as possible though because if your baby gets constipated for too long it’s dangerous. Not to mention painful for her
