Not mom related but is it normal for a 13 year old not to have gotten her period yet??? My niece is up staying with us for awhile and me and my sis randomly ask if she needs any feminine products and shes like whats that??? Like seriously. We wanna know where we can get her things if she's needing them. I think I started my period at age 11 or 12. Just wondering if it's normal or if she's too embarrassed to say she needs pads or something

Normal. My mom got her’s at 15. And a few of my friends got their’s at 15-16.

If she is embarrassed just explain to her it’s a natural thing. Hell. I keep a box of tampons in my truck. All my female coworkers know so they ask me if they need anything. But I wouldn’t be worried.

I know when I started mine I was really embarrassed. I didn't know what to do. I woke up one morning and seen blood all over my sheet and I rolled my sheet up and stuck it in the closet so no one would see lol. Then I remember sneaking my sisters and my sister in laws pads and tampons all the time lol. Until my mom found my sheet and undies and sent money to my grandmother to buy me pads of my own lol. So that's why I was thinking she was embarrassed

My sister is 13 and hasn't started either. Her doctor says not to start worrying until she's 15 and if she hasn't started by 16 they'll run tests.
