If we ever have another child in there future I do NOT want this Makena shot 🙄 wish I didn’t agree to it

@ansturner15, i stopped my last shot last week at 33 1/2 weeks so we’ll see when my little man comes

For my daughter I was still on it and had her at 35 weeks and with my son I wasn’t passing 2cm and I was at 39 weeks no major contractions so I opted to be induced because I had gestational diabetes and wanted a vaginal birth

@mimimommyof2 hi I was recommended the Makena shot as well. I kind of feel like I didn't need it. I have had extremely bad side effects due to the medication. I am 31 weeks and my OB pretty much said it was up to me when I can stop them. I was wondering how fast you went into labor after you stop the medication for both of your pregnancies?

Oh geeze!! Good luck to you! My daughter been measuring a little bigger. I’m hoping she isn’t huge lol my man keeps telling me that she’s gunna b so big so I should have a repeat c section and she will have a huge head because his head is huge lol 😂

@cr131418, omg 😩 the ultrasound tech said that he looks like a big baby lol if he’s anything like his brother. I was 5 ‘11 and 2 weeks early and not sure what my boyfriend was cause he is adopted . But i think my kids get the bigger genes from

@kaela3, oh god yeah I feel that. My fiancé keeps telling me our daughter is going to be like a ten pounder lol I was 8.6 and he was 9.6 I think so he’s jinxing me for a big baby.

@cr131418, yeah i didn’t even know i was gonna have my son early because i had no Braxton Hicks or any real contractions till the day i had him. Lost my plug started leaking fluid then having contractions went to the hospital was fully dilated and ready to push! Pushed for an hour and he was here. 2 days before i turned 37 weeks. He was 6 lbs 11 oz . My boyfriend and i make big babies lol!

@kaela3 yeah, just figured I would let you know I didn't know if u knew about it or not. So far it's worked for me. I started having problems at 18 weeks and started dilating at 20 weeks water broke at 23 weeks gave birth at 24. I'm almost 23 weeks now an haven't had those issues so it's been working for me

@cr131418, yeah you start the Makena at 15 weeks till 36 and i already take iron pills every day so that wouldn’t bother me to add another pill on lol! But I’ll deff think about that for the future and yeah my insurance covered it if it didn’t i prolly wouldn’t have done it cause i don’t have the money to pay out of pocket for it

Just the only thing with the pills is you take it every day from 16 weeks til either 36/37weeks

If you still wanted to use something that isn’t the shot you could possibly opt to have the progesterone pills. My insurance didn’t cover the makena shot because I had twins early not a singleton so my midwife and other high risk doctors highly recommend the pills.

@skysmommy04, hmm i wonder if he’ll still come before 40 weeks!! I’m hoping so. I didn’t have any prior contractions or anything till the day i had my son. I only had contractions for 4 hours before he was here

@kaela3, I had it my second pregnancy and this one not for my first because we found out everything to late and makena has to be processed early on for insurance it works better and better each time is what I’ve heard from people’s experience and mine

@skysmommy04, did you have the Makena the second time too? And right i read that it doesn’t 100% keep the baby in till full term. As far as I’m concerned after 37 weeks he can come out lol! I hope this shot doesn’t make me go over! You’ll have to keep me posted on when this one comes

@kaela3, 🙄 sounds like your doctors are annoying the makena is completely unnecessary lol I lost a baby at 20 weeks with her I was already dilating and contracting by 16 weeks and with my daughter I was contracting my whole pregnancy dilated at 21 weeks and had her right at 35 weeks I’m still pregnant with this baby seems like round two of makena is definitely working I’m 35 and last time I checked I was only a cm which is amazing compared to the 6cm I was with my daughter

@skysmommy04, i had my son 2 days before i turned 37 weeks! It’s so annoying lol. If he would have waited 2 more days he wouldn’t even be considered premature

@kaela3, yea I got annoyed after a while too but hey it keeps you pregnant

@skysmommy04, it’s just annoying having to go every week. It’s a hassle . I didn’t even know i had to go every week when my dr first told me about it and how long i had to do it for. And some nurses don’t know how to give shots because the lady hurt me today and it usually never hurts me. 3 more months left 😅 one month down
