It depends on when you got them done . I got mine done in April a week before I conceived so my rings were gonna be to small for me to continue to have them in . So sad. I wish they could've stayed . I'll just get them done all over again

@kyla_marie, I took them out because they were getting uncomfortable and they were disappearing in my nipples 😂😂 if you keep them get a bigger bar but you’d have to take them out every time you breastfed if you are doing it.

@mikailahandbaby, someone who is trained and someone who specializes in just one field are completely different monsters and coming from a medical background myself ild never take the person who is only trained on it to give me the most upto date info to me that’s like getting medical advice from a cna

@lovelyjane, Some doctors also train to become lactation consultants, sweetie. I was using a more general term.

@mikailahandbaby, you have to talk to your lactation consultant not your doctor. You wouldn’t ask a orthopedic dr how your boobs work because they wouldn’t give you the correct info. My lactation consultant has been doing it for years and had the article and studies on nipple piercing, feeding two children at the same time, and a bunch of other info. They have the most up to date information regarding breastfeeding since that is their job

@kyla_marie, Okay, then they're fully healed so there wouldn't be risk for infection. Just wanted to check and make sure!

@lovelyjane, Can I ask what class you took? As any doctor I've spoken to has said the complete opposite.

Actually breasting feeding is easier when you have a nipple piercing I legit just had a class on this. You should take them out before you start breast feeding but it shouldn’t be a issue with breast feeding since milk will come out of the piercing

Well, it kind of depends... the first thing to note, is having the piercing in the first place may interfere with your milk production, so it could be a possibility that breastfeeding isnt an option. Are you wanting to breastfeed? Also, when did you get the piercings?
