@mumstasin, the mylicon drops are super inexpensive! Really?! I never had that problem with my dr brown bottles. That’s so weird!

@noahs.mommy, my first had bad acid reflux and was allergic to cows milk. He had to be put on that expensive formula nutramigen. I tried the dr brown bottles with him, but all that excess stuff in the bottle started smelling after using them for a bit. She doesn't really complain too much after feedings, but she is definitely gassy. I got the gerber colic drops! Super expensive tho.

@mumstasin, she might have a sensitivity issue going on with the formula you might need to change her formula but ask her pedi first and see what he/she says. I had to step breastfeeding after only 2 weeks. He was put on formula and it was HELL trying to figure out what was wrong with him and what kind of formula was going to keep his belly from getting upset. I give him enfamil gentlease. I was also giving gas drops or gripe water after his bottles because he had colic REAL bad. I also ended up having to buy the dr browns bottles so that he wouldn’t get so much air and they helped SO much he stopped spitting up as much as he was and his comic basically disappeared. I got him the dr browns options bottles once he went beyond 4oz and now we do not use the air vent in the bottle and his colic hasn’t returned. I HIGHLY suggest those bottles or any bottle with an air vent in it. They are a huge life savor and the gas drops and gripe water, girl I don’t think I would age survived his newborn days without those things. I’m also going to get crap for this but ask her pedi if a tiny tiny bit of rice cereal in her bottle would be okay. I do that for Noah and got his drs okay and wics approval for it and it helped a lot too. He stayed full and stopped screaming his lungs out after feedings.

@mommysbabies, she actually swallows after when I put her on the boob after the bottle I give her of breastmilk. I pump because she has jaundice still and I have to make sure she's getting 3oz every 2 hours @_sheriee, she screams when I take the bottle out to breastfeed her! This helped me when I was unsure if my milk was enough.

Remember breastmilk digests faster than formula. If you're pumping I would not mix breast milk and formula in one feeding. If you're daughter is still hungry try one feeding a day of formula and still pump but save that milk to supplement your next feeding. Also, when pumping make sure you are eating meals and snacks throughout the day regularly and stay hydrated. With breastfeeding or pumping, your body needs the same demand as pregnancy to help make breastmilk.

I'm an exclusively pumping mom as well if you wanna talk. I also supplement formula once a day for my son's gas issues

That sounds like more than enough! My boy likes to just suck to soothe after. He won't take a paci either. It's a comfort thing. Also, make sure you are pace feeding if you decide to bottle feed.

That’s really good that’s about what I make and if you put her on your boob is she actually swallowing

@mommysbabies, @_sheriee, I make 3oz every 2 hours (I've been pumping) but after she always seems to stay hungry. Not sure if she just wants to suck to self soothe, but she doesn't take a pacifier :(

What makes you think you weren't producing enough? Do you pump or breast?

That's waaay too much for her little belly mama. The grunting could be normal. My little guy grunts like crazy still, doctor said it's normal.

@_sheriee, she was going through a growth spurt and was drinking up to 4-5oz but yesterday and today she barely wants to drink 3-4oz. I have been, but maybe I need to burp more or get different bottles. I've been giving her the gerber colic drops for acid reflux and all the grunting not sure if that might be causing something.

How much are you feeding? Are you burping in between mama?
