Why Do People Discredit Stay-at-Home Moms?

@amaperalta03, it's scary. Tomorrow I go for a growth ultrasound and my ob appt. I hope all continues to go well.

@gracelynnsmama, i had my first baby at 29 weeks she was 2.7 lbs so i know all the worrying that goes on during the second pregnancy. My second pregnancy was also high risk because of my first and i had weekely appointments and a nurse would come check on me once a week. I had my second at 36 weeks due to pre eclampsia

@amaperalta03, 6 weeks. Cord blood reversed and she wasn't growing. She was 3lb 6oz at birth. Now she's a 20lb typical one year old, milestones absolutely on par for a typical baby. I work with special needs children, so I would pick up on something quickly if I saw it. Her pediatrician had to tell me at his first visit; "I'm mom. But if I notice anything; tell him." Her vocabulary is absolutely amazing! We have to watch what we say because she just picks it up.

I'm freaking out because I'm 32 weeks with my second. Movement is decreasing. I have an appointment and ultrasound tomorrow. My husband tells me not to worry. But mother's intuition. I knew something was wrong with my first pregnancy. I had to make a big deal of my hypertension in order to get anywhere with the ob. This time around, I went with a high risk ob at the hospital they transferred me to at 33 weeks with my first. It's almost an hour away but worth it. I'm trying to hold out until tomorrow. I know when I'm working, I don't tend to feel her as much but at night she's usually a kicking machine 😂

@gracelynnsmama, how early was she born ?

@amaperalta03, yeah. My mom watches her until my husband gets home. I know she's in great hands. I'll be on maternity leave in a month. Once the baby is born, I'll be going stir crazy. My husband is great about coming home; and seeing that and tells me to go for a drive or to the store. Our daughter was a preemie so i literally was stuck at home unless a doctors appointment for months. That was my saving grace!

@gracelynnsmama, lol you’re absolutely correct going to work i get a break from mother hood and i do find it a bit easier. Only thing that’s hard for me is being away from them i get bad separation anxiety. My boyfriend also watches them while i work so at least i know they’re in good hands

Staying home and taking care of kids, the house, etc is harder than working a job. When I go to work; it's a break from home. It's also where my husband gets a little piece of what I go through daily!

He's all worked up because I'm working all day Saturday which is a one time thing. I even suggested a copout and said "why don't you go to my parents house and put the snow tires on the car. I'm sure they'd love to see their granddaughter." 😂 I did get a look.
