Alright I need some advice. My daughter is 13 months and isn’t walking or crawling. Mind you her height and weight is between the 10th and 25th percentile while her head is in the 98th percentile. So she’s got a BIG HEAD. She definitely seems more interested in walking rather than crawling but I’m really starting to worry. What do I do? We already do physical therapy once a week but it’s not seeming to make a difference. Her therapist gets onto me for picking her up too often when she starts to cry so I️ really try not to but it’s hard!☹️ my husband feels like we’ve failed as parents because she isn’t where she is supposed to be physically. So I guess I’m just needing some words of encouragement.
@kiaraherbert24, that’s why she has a physical therapist coming once a week. The doctor recommended early intervention so that’s what we did. But it’s not seeming to make a difference 😢
Every kid is diff , every step of their development could differ , my older son didn’t start walking until maybe 13 or 14 months , but my second walked before he turned 1. I wasn’t concerned just because there’s no NORM . Unless the child has a serious issue which you can get evaluations for but otherwise some kids are just slowing developing while others are super fast or on time for their age but i don’t like when the doctors make parents worry , we never fail as parents we can’t make a child do something they’re not ready for . Give her some time , maybe buy some toys that’ll help her walk like a walker or a ball that makes noise so she will wanna crawl to it , help her as much as you can . Otherwise don’t ever feel like you’ve failed your child , that’s the worst and your punishing yourself and it makes it even harder . Encouragement is key

Same my neice only scooted on her butt until over a year old. My almost 9 month old won't do anything. Crawl or roll over. Doctor said she will do it when she's ready or maybe not at all. Told me she may skip all the rest and just walk one day so I wouldn't worry just yet. Every baby learns at their own pace.
My little cousin was like that. He didn’t crawl..he kinda scooted everywhere. It was well after his first birthday that he started walking. Now he’s a year and a half and runs instead of walks. He’s a fast little dude!
