Okay to clear up an argument I'm having with my attention seeking cousin on Facebook if you was 35 weeks 2 1/2 cm dilated and having contractions 2 minutes apart isn't that considered active labor?? Shes saying that's what's going on with her but the hospital wanted to keep her and she said no like um I think if that was actually happening you wouldn't have much choice in the matter but to stay.. especially if you were in labor like that your ass wouldn't wanna fucking go home I call bullshit. OH AND she was apparently not dialated at all when she went into labor and delivery but yeah if you're having contractions like that plus progress your ass is being kept idc.

I think active labor is 4cm. But if she's progressing at all she's supposed to be kept. The hospital can't force it however. So if she is in labor that's just putting her and baby in danger

Something doesn't add up for sure but hospitals can't force you to stay for any reason. You have every right to leave when you want to if you don't want to stay

@ilovemykids97 I think it's bullshit lol because she couldn't even tell me who the doctor on call was when she apparently spoke to them for an hour about labor options.. there's only like 3 that go between shifts 😂

@annahasanovic wow nice... some people are awful. I know my sister was pissed off when she found out I was pregnant with my daughter. She was pregnant too and wanted the spot light lol. She got over it though

@maesmommy04 my cousin is that way I was pregnant before her and at 2 months decided to name my daughter Addilynn Ann so I posted the name after I knew the gender and then here she comes an hour later not knowing the gender saying if she has a girl she's naming her Adeline Anne Rose... Like bitch I seen you just stole my name she said they'd been picked for a month.. but you didn't even know you were pregnant a month ago lmao

Active labor is considered after your 5cm they’ll keep you. If you’re having contractions you’ll be kept and monitored to see if they slow down or stop depending on how far you are they will put an iv of magnesium and other things to stop them but you do have the choice of going home because 2cm is not of concern for them especially if progression is slow
