Moms, what are yalls thought, personal experiences, and truths about laying on your back during pregnancy?? I’m 11 weeks and never sleep on my sides or stomach due to it being uncomfortable. I was told by my Tia that it’s bad and a risk for the baby to sleep on my back and now I’m all worried and wake up throughout the night to make sure I’m on my side.
It's not good once the baby starts to get bigger
I too wasn't comfortable sleeping on my sides so I just slept on my back until 20 weeks or so which was when it became uncomfortable to sleep on my back so I then started sleeping on my sides which was comfortable by then ha
That doesn’t bother you until like 3rd trimester well in my experience that’s when babies really start gaining and their weight compresses your vena cava and it can make you feel quite light headed and uncomfortable so for now sleep how you feel comfortable whether it’s back sides or in your tummy until you feel uncomfortable because your baby is perfectly protected in there
@lovingmommy2017, thank you. I guess I’ll just have to lay on my side for the baby’s sake. (:
Definitely what she said.
I’ve always slept on my back but once you get to second/third trimester it becomes uncomfortable to sleep on your back and the most comfortable becomes on your side (or for me sometimes sitting on a reclining chair due to heartburn!)
My doctor told me that too but I didn't really worrie about it til the second trimester because by then your bigger and the baby has grown so it puts more pressure on your blood vessels.
When you lie belly-up, the weight of your uterus can compress a major blood vessel, called the vena cava, disrupting blood flow to your baby and leaving you nauseated, dizzy, and short of breath. The best way to sleep during the second half of pregnancy is on your side.
😩😩 I’m starting to get the weird pregnancy dreams. Smh I’m scared to go back to sleep!
Can you sleep on your right side while pregnant ? I’m asking cause I’m tired of my left side & im not comfortable 😭

So I’m 21wks and can not stop sleeping on my back ! I keep hearing it’s bad for me, but I can’t help it. I got a pregnancy pillow that didn’t help and even when I try to sleep on my side I wake up on my back. With my first, back sleeping was very uncomfortable so I stayed on my side but with this one it’s the opposite! Anyone know if sleeping on my back will cause problems for the baby?
How important is it to sleep on your left side? I catch myself sleeping on my back and right side all the time 😕
Sleeping position when pregnant
I try to fall asleep on my left side but always wake up on my back or on my right side, is it really that bad not to be on my left?, I have horrible SPD and it's so uncomfortable on my left side so I must be turning in my sleep x
I'm told whatever is comfy
Is fine.. I can't lay on my back anymore as of a week or so ago.. can't breathe anymore lol I hate it
