Moms, what are yalls thought, personal experiences, and truths about laying on your back during pregnancy?? I’m 11 weeks and never sleep on my sides or stomach due to it being uncomfortable. I was told by my Tia that it’s bad and a risk for the baby to sleep on my back and now I’m all worried and wake up throughout the night to make sure I’m on my side.

It’s the time frame for the danger scale.

11 weeks your good to lay on your back. You’re good for several weeks after. I quit consciously sleeping on my stomach around then, but this is my second 4th pregnancy and you grow faster with the second, third and so on pregnancies.

I’m 25 weeks and it’s still comfortable to lay on my back in bed. But I don’t sleep consistently on my back, I move around during the night. So it’s not a huge deal.

Basically when your baby gets bigger its unsafe for you to spend to much time flat on your back because the baby could squish your organs and other junk...

Sleeping on your side will be more comfortable with a pillow between your knees. They make pregnancy pillows and I was super excited to get one, and didn’t care for it. It was a memory foam and not the quality of memory foam as my bed and pillow, so it is a blah. I found another one, but I still prefer my body pillow.

Hope this helps.

So I’m 21wks and can not stop sleeping on my back ! I keep hearing it’s bad for me, but I can’t help it. I got a pregnancy pillow that didn’t help and even when I try to sleep on my side I wake up on my back. With my first, back sleeping was very uncomfortable so I stayed on my side but with this one it’s the opposite! Anyone know if sleeping on my back will cause problems for the baby?
