How do I produce more milk? I used to pump 5oz...now I’m pumping barely 3oz within two days and getting less. I’m pumping every two hours.

They are still very helpful if you choose to exclusively pump, I would get into contact with one as soon as you can, and refer to the picture I commented when it comes to your pump output because it is true!

@avahcruz, not since i decided to feed with a bottle. I tried calling one at the last minute and they weren’t available

Gotcha. Have you worked with a lactation consultant?

@jaderbug, even though you’re feeding with a bottle make sure you still are getting plenty of skin to skin time! That will help!

She can barely latch on because my nipples are so big she can only get ahold of half of it so I decided to pump and feed her the breast milk through the bottle and ever since then I’ve been producing less. Just now I pumped 2 1/2 oz.

Is there a reason you are pumping so early on? Like problems with latching?

@jaderbug does she eat off one boob or both? Usually the suggestion is to pump every 2-3 hours like baby eats. So if baby eats one side you pump the other and that's it. But be careful with pumping and nursing when baby is so young bc you can end up with oversupply when it regulates at 3-4 weeks, which can lead to issues like clogged ducts and mastitis.

Honestly, since you are nursing and pumping it's probably not that you're pumping less but that babe is eating more esp if you're pumping right after babe eats.

@mybabyrory, so if she eats every 2-3 hours, should I pump every hour? And instead of 20 minutes do like, 30 minutes? (For example)

Water! And make sure you're pumping often. Just like when baby nurses it's supply and demand so if you're pumping more often and longer you'll make more milk.

Are you staying extra hydrated!? Your water intake should be more than when you were pregnant. There is also mother’s milk tea you can try

bigmama18 @uniloveee, I was just trying to say if you pump it will be more than just nipple
tiera_shaye @mhbb3, while distress can in fact cause them to pass meconium the chances of it happen greatly
mhbb29 @tiera_shaye but she's not even 40 weeks and due dates are estimates.
