My mom has threatened to take me to court for visitation or custody of my kid. Idk which one. It's not happening either way. I've offered for her to come over, i just don't want my daughter around her boyfriend. So I stopped responding to her messages because she has thretened my family with court multiple times. So I'm sick of it. And out of the blue today she texts me and says "hey, just wondering how you're doing". Wouldn't you like to fucking know. You don't get to threaten me and then act like you give a shit. You don't. You're under your boyfriends spell and you, for two seconds, felt bad about it and miss me.
Sorry I just don't have anyone to talk to besides my husband so I had to get it off my chest.

Some states have “grandparents rights” but I don’t know which states it applies to. I think it only applies if the grandparents can prove that the grandchild/ren could benefit from time with them, like if someone was an unfit parent or something. I’m pretty sure my mum would like to think she should see her grandchildren, but she’s a piece of crap and I refuse to let her see my kids. She’s smarter than to try going to court to fight for visitation though.

@kimberlyyyy_the-preemie-mom, yeah, I've looked into it. I live in Ohio and she definitely could, but I have texts proving that I've offered for her to come over and her saying no. I even flat out told her she can see my daughter whenever I just don't want her boyfriend in my daughter's life because he's abusive and my mom has even called the police on him. 🙄🙄 So if she were to take me to court, she would be an idiot.

And as a parent you have the right to say you don't want your child around certain folks! You should not have to express to your mom how protective of a mother you are. Cause she is a mother also. And we have to be cautious on who our kids are around especially girls. And if she feels you are not a fit parent to treathen to take your child away. With her being your mom and you learning from her. Taking you to court makes it look as if she failed you as a mom. What is she gaining from this "spell" her bf has her under? Or has he failed as a parent and want a do over using your daughter?

@lana30319, that's the thing, my mom keeps saying "he wouldn't hurt her. He would abuse her. I wouldn't let that happen" but it doesn't really matter what you think he might not do, you know? And she says "well he hasn't even done anything. If he did something I would understand" so you want me to let her be around him until he does something? What if that something is emotionally scarring? I'm not waiting until he fucks up. He just can't see her.
And I'm not sure she's gaining anything except a place to live. She can't afford to live on her own, so she decided to stay with him (after trying to leave him) so she could afford a place to stay. So she "loves" him. 🙄

@princessrose you are doing right! Prevent the would of, could of, should of now! If some one has been abusive to another person what are the chances that they won't take the opportunity to do the same thing to a helpless, can't defend themselves, innocent child. Then on top of that it is his home! That alone would have changed the ball game for me too! What if something as little as your child start to cry cause she hungry. Can get him upset and them he can easily have your mom and baby outside! Or they could get into a fight themselves! Love these days ain't really what we Hope it to be. And when they say love is pain it don't mean with a side of fist!

@lana30319, exactly! He has kids, but it's been a long time since they were little. It's easy to get frustrated with a baby.. and if they aren't even your own blood, you might shake them or hit them. My mom says "I wouldn't let anything happen to her" you sure about that? You can't predict the future.. and I can't be with her all the time and I know that, and I would want her to be with people I could trust.
Thank you for the reassurance. It's hard to make this kind of decision.

@princessrose my sister tells me all the time as a unmarried couple with kids. We as mothers are solely responsible for our kids. If anything happens to the we are the first ones they gonna look at
