HELP!
Waiting on pediatrician to call us back for a appointment, pretty sure my buggy has hand foot and mouth . She woke up with these blister type things around her mouth, I checked inside it, I put her in the bath and checked her whole body to see if maybe there are anymore and can’t find Any. She’s got a very small fever of 99.9. . What can I do for her till I can get her in? It’s not a emergency so a er trip is out of the question, she’s acting normal too so I don’t want to scare her with poking and prodding . Ideas? Advice? I’ll add pictures of her mouth .
@leann.harris, I have seen kids get it extreme bad and I have seen kids get mild cases of it too. It lasts at least a week usually and the kids are in so much pain that they basically cry and scream the entire time..
@mommy.to.sterling, @missheatherbaby, @skyy12221, her doctor said they can’t judge it off of symptoms this small so I have to just treat it from home and hope it’s just like a drool bump or something. I don’t wanna take her to the er for it because online it says it’s extremely common and not worth the trip since they cannot do anything for it either.
How long does it usually last? This is my first experience with it so im totally lost
Its a virus so honestly you can't do anything for it, it has to run its course. You can alternate Tylenol and Motrin to make her comfortable. It starts in the mouth that's why she has the fever and bumps on her mouth eventually it'll spread to her hands and feet and probably legs arms and torso as well. I just dealt with this with my older 2 boys.
