I want so desperately to exclusively feed my baby breast milk, but I think I may have to supplement some because the cramps are so bad I am crying while feeding him and I feel so miserable. I cried so much earlier because I had to take him off the breast because I was in too much pain. No one ever told me about these cramps, so first time moms who plan to breastfeed, be prepared! 😭

@damiensmommy1117, ask for you ibuprofen girl! They will give it to you if it has been long enough since your last dose. ASK FOR HELP. They are there to help with WHATEVER you need no matter what so take advantage. I got those cramps too. Felt like I was still contracting because you ARE still contracting, your uterus is contracting back down to size. It doesn’t last long at all!

@damiensmommy1117 the heating pad is probably the best thing to use and make sure your in a comfortable position as well.

I took pain killers for mine. After my c section it also killed me to breast feed mine. So the pain killers made it more tolerable and after a week I didn't need them as much just tol help with the pain of the surgery

I just got one, it does help a lot! I'm so determined to keep breastfeeding so I'm going to try everything I can to help myself keep going.

I've breastfed all mine and a heating pad helps alot so definitely get one if you plan to breastfeed still

Breastfeeding helps your uterus contract to get back to normal. That's why it hurts.

Oh yeah, it is awful, but I do feel grateful I was able to deliver vaginally. I didn't realize how low my pain tolerance is until now. I can't imagine the pain that comes with a C-section!

@damiensmommy1117 oh gosh that sounds miserable! I guess maybe I skipped that... or maybe since I had a csectiom, the cramps were just not felt bc of the other pains.

@pettybetty

I say cramps, but it actually feels more like the contractions I was having in the very beginning of labor. They hurt A LOT and they go full gear while I'm breastfeeding.

I never had those cramps idk why. But you gotta keep up on the ibuprofen for the postpartum pain. Works best if you keep taking it.

Definitely agree about it going away! Also, I had to supplement formula for about the first week til my milk came in bc baby wouldn't latch but now I'm feeding him exclusively breastmilk. Unfortunately, for me I'm exclusively pumping but I just want him to have breastmilk. Crossing my fingers you have better luck. Just remember fed is best and try not.to stress ❤

It’ll go away!!!! Like at a week or week n 1/2 it was bad for me too but once it went away everything was better. I used hot packs to help the cramping
