My mom is making fried cream chicken and small ham.

Turkeys are easy to cook they have a timer on them that pops up when its done cooking just have to keep checking the turkey for the timer.

You could make just little helpings of everything he wants. That's what im doing this year. Like make enough for everyone a dip of everything lol. Last year I made lots and had leftovers for 3 days and still had alot wasted.

Or you could get little Cornish game hens

I just use butter rubed all over the turkey poultry seasoning a little garlic it's simple but delicious

@bunny713 im not a big drinker but a glass of wine after cooking a huge meal does sound nice. Maybe ill look into that!

Yeah, I read about how many of the pop up timers don't pop out and/or by the time they do, your turkey is well overcooked and dry. A turkey is cooked when the internal temp reaches 165 F. Those timers usually pop around 175-180 is what I read. Just get a thermometer and stick it in the meatiest/thickest of the turkey and take the temp. Cooking your first Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner can be stressful lol.

Girl get you a turkey bag it turns out tender and juicy ever since I discovered these little bags I never cook them any other way so good and just get a smaller turkey

It's not hard. Definitely get a meat thermometer though. Don't go by those little red pop up timers many turkeys have in them. You can always get a turkey breast instead of the full turkey too, since it's just you and your boyfriend. I was nervous as hell making my first turkey, but everyone said it was delicious. The 2nd one was even better and so juicy. There are so many different recipes and walkthroughs on how to make one that you may like. But also, nothing wrong with only making a ham or smaller meal, since it's just 2 people eating.
