In laws 🙄 can you give a 1 year old a half a dose of medicine labeled for two year olds?

Depends on their weight.

@tyrellp, I have a friend that’s a pharmacist I’ll ask her but my baby weighs 20-21lbs the dosage for 2yr olds I think is 24lbs.... I think I’d just be more comfortable getting her infants medicine not children’s. My mil is so insistent that it doesn’t matter

I do, & it works fine and causes no problems or complications. Like @tyrellp said, trust your instincts. there aren't many cough medicines for kids under two, so I just give half the dosage & she's fine

Hylands has a cough syrup for kids younger than two. I️ personally wouldn’t because there isn’t a weight guideline. If there were a weight guideline it’d be different

@halsey11, she doesn’t meet the weight of a 2 year old anyway. I’m just going to buy something different that’s meant for her age.

Yeah my 2 yo(he will be 3 in exactly 1 month), he weighs 28lbs.
