I would ask for the epidural first... pitocin contractions are intense... but i guess it depends on how dialated you are because if you get the epidural too soon it wears off by the time tou have to push..
I did once I hit 6 cm after pitocin. I was having contractions that ran into each other. One was ending and another was coming in at full force. By then they were able to stop the pitocin and I had natural contractions but they didn't slow any so I got one.
@eaj8290 They messed up my IV 4 times before they found a vein. Then the lab tech had to find her own vein to draw blood. I've been a Human pin cushion lol
I know they use a small shot to numb the area forst correct ?
I got to the hospital and was 5 centimeters dilated already. I asked for it at 6 because I couldn’t take it. Honestly if the person doing it knows what he or she is doing it isn’t as scary as some people think. It’s pretty quick. I’m having my second soon and will hold the pain as long as I can but will probably get another epidural. Just afterwards the back pain is terrible but worth it.

I am terrified of needles. Like can't get blood drawn without crying. I didn't feel the epidural with my first because my contractions were so strong. With my second I did and yes it hurt, but only for a minute.

Someone told me a horror story that they tried to "wait and see" and they ended up wanting one and the anesthesiologist was busy and couldn't get to her in time. It scarred me for life 😂😂
I got the epidural after pitocin, the contractions were extremely painful.

When they told me I needed pictocin, I demanded the epidural first. My contractions were literally off the charts and I was watching them completely content.
