Yes! Lol. But maybe that's becuase I'm practical and can think of a million other ways to spend 5,000. My ring was half that price tag and it's beautiful. Wouldn't change it or exchange for anything else. 👍

I think it is, its not necessary to spend that much money on something that doesnt really do anything for you....its not a house over your head or shoes on your feet kinda thing. It's all marketing propaganda. Why does a ring have to symbolize love? Or a piece of paper...I just don't get it..
@tholliswilliams I mean the ring could be bought for you, and he could still cheat on you, with or without the ring. And besides most of the rings that are sold that high are fake. People always get tricked into buying them and later at a jeweler find out it's cheap and worthless. Then as most gossip goes the lady leaves the man because it's not real...or something like that. Trust is not in a piece of metal, stone, or paper. Trust and love comes within and if you need a ring to show you love someone, then set the risk into spending that money for your sanity. But, in all honesty weddings and rings make people more sad because then they are in debt and fight over stupid money issues that would never have been a problem. Big companies try to make women feel like a weddings going to be some great thing for their profit not yours. Why do people need to come see you kiss to know you are together. Is there no other way to show affection for your partner...now I am ranting. I know I am strongly against it, and if my bf wants to get married because he likes the idea, that's the way to go. Not for personal gain or to risk the relationship you have to get a rock. My friend married a guy she barely knew because they couldn't have sex prior, or so the religion goes, and I think that's wrong... how could you know someone so little of time? People don't "change" they show you who they are. People won't express who they are unless you know them long enough to gain that trust and openness.
