Has anyone ever had DHS called on them before?

Me and my Husband was falsely accused of child abuse because of the hospital negligent. My son was born premature with two cyst on his brain. The doctors told me it would go away it never did. I noticed my sons head getting bigger and brought it up to the doctors. They told me nothing was wrong, come to find out the cyst burst and it caused bleeding on his brain. Then they turned it around on me and my Husband took all 3 of our kids for 9months. They had no evidence we did anything, so they gave us our kids back... All i can say is do what they tell you, be respectful, tell the truth and have a positive attitude. The Lord is in control of everything, he knows all and sees all.

Yupp. We had them called twice. Once was for someone thought we were making meth in our house with the kids(which obviously was not true. Never touched a drug in my life and neither has my husband.) and the second time was from the school for “dental neglect” cause my son went to that mobile dentist at the school and they didn’t thought we were neglecting his hygiene which we don’t.

LOL after I posted all that I figured it could possibly be like "department of human services" or something. But someone else calling it homeland had me worried. You never know these daysm

@eaj8290 no in Philadelphia DHS is basically the same thing as CPS. Lol, nothing to do with a terrorist group. At least not in Philadelphia.

@tyrellp its my fault. They wouldn't have gotten taken if I hadn't flipped out on cps when they showed up. My fault 100% but I'm doing good at getting them back. I would be a lot further in the process if my ex husband was complying with it too. Having to go back to court next month to file for contempt. Hopefully then things will get better 😊

Yes and my kids were taken by cps if that's what you mean. I'm part of the reunification process now and have been for about 16 months

Literally all they do is question you about the concerns, make sure you have food in your fridge, make sure you're not living in a crack den and the kids have a safe sleeping area, make a report and if there's a court case in regards to the situation, the case worker will send the report to the judge. They can't determine custody, that's not their job. The only job they have is to make sure the children are safe and taken care of.

@tyrellp yup, in Delaware it's called CPS as well. Maryland is DSS

@tyrellp DHS gets called on you if people think you're running a terrorist organization. DSS/CPS/DCF gets called when the welfare of the child is in jeopardy

Do you mean DSS? My ex used to call them every 3 months.

All the time. Not me but my husband. His ex does. Because we don't supervise the kids outside in out fenced in back yard with a lock on the gates. Or because we discipline them. Or because they lie about stupid crap. Only here it's called DCF. They don't do anything because there's nothing they can do because we aren't doing anything.
