Any other Mommas CNAs? Have you lost many residents since working as a CNA? How did you cope with that? Does it get easier? Has it made you want to quit? Comment or message me😩😭

I’ve lost many residents. Yes it’s hard especially the ones you get really close to.

@barefootmom, I try to tell myself that they are no longer suffering and I got to be such a big part on their last few moments on earth and made it easier on them. But it still hurts a lot.

Yeah, try not to get attached to people and keep in mind that we all temporarily here on this earth

@barefootmom, I've lost close to 15 residents in just the short 7 months I've worked at my job. But in just those 7 months you get so attached and care for them. I've almost quit because how upset I get when I loose someone. But I love my job so I stay..

I’m not a CNA but a nurse working in long term care/skilled nursing and most of the residents are elderly and a lot with Dementia/Alzheimer’s. I have lost many residents in the 3 years I have worked there. It’s hard especially because you get to know your residents they are there for a while not like hospital. But it DOES get better you learn to except and deal with families. It never made me want to quit though...
