I need to vent for a minute. I'm staying with my mom for a little bit while my husband finishes up some training for work.

I'm going crazy. I feel like she puts her dog above the needs and safety of my daughter. It's constantly growling at my daughter. At one point it tried to attack her and I. And my mom just doesn't seem to think it's as big of an issue as it is. She keeps explaining away the growling and aggression.

Mom took the dog to the vet, but I'm pretty sure he's a quack because he told her to dose her dog up with 2 benadryl 2x a day rather than give it something to help its anxiety. (Which is the root of the issue here. It's afraid of EVERYTHING.)

She wont see a different vet.

Then in addition to this, she just seems to refuse to compromise on some things I asked her to do to make things easier or safer for the baby. I asked her to keep her toilet seat down. I dont want the dog drinking from it and licking everything, and I dont want the baby to play in it. She went along with it for the first two weeks, then just outright started refusing to do it anymore. I politely confronted her and she told me that since she bleaches it every other week, that it's clean and not an issue. And will not budge.

She leaves stuff lying around that can potentially be a hazard to the baby because "she cant hurt it". Not understanding, or refusing to realize that it can be harmful to the baby. So i have to constantly rush around to hide it all.

And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Bottom line; mom wanted us to stay with her while we're in the process of moving, but refuses to cater to guests even the slightest amount. I'm going crazy and really have nowhere else to go.
