Can you feel any kind of rattling in his lungs when you hold him?
@jordyn_beth, yeah I wouldn't either . A mother always knows . My son had a bad cough and it eventually worried me turned out he had croup. A mom always knows
@mrsmord, it’s just so phlegmy. I think I’ll see how he is in the morning (after giving him some time to wake up) and decide then. We battled RSV when he was itty bitty, so I don’t play around with respiratory issues
If the baby is wheezing and you can hear the breathing unsteady I would go . Sometimes it can progress if not taken care of . Also if your worried. - go
Eh, yeah. Does the office have early or late hours? Even if you don't bring him in, call. You can describe the cough to her, she'll speak to the doctor, and you can get a recommendation on what to do, if the doctor thinks it's serious or just a seasonal cough. We've called so many times just to ask "is this normal or should we be worried?"
@nomli, that’s true. I just need to know if I should be calling into work so I can bring him in or not 🙃 I’ve missed some work already this week, so I’d like to avoid that if I can
Trust your instincts. What's the worst that can happen if you go in? The doctor will say he's fine and send you home. When we called for that second visit in a week, the office said we could wait or bring him in, that it was up to us, but that we knew our son better than she did. He didn't have bronchiolitis bad, but who knows if we had waited?
It’s so wet and it sounds awful. He’s only been sick for 3 days, but it hasn’t really gotten any better
We call if he's wheezing, if the cough is really wet and constant, if he's having any trouble breathing. Otherwise we wait a few days and see.
He's had a cough twice. The first one we brought him in right away because we were headed out of town to be told it was allergies, four days later he was wheezing so went back and it was bronchiolitis. Second time we called after 4 days, but that was a specific barking, deep cough that turned out to be croup.
Hum maybe call Friday if it continues I have a horrible cough always have and teachers would send me home because they thought I had whooping cough
@mommysbabies, last time he was coughing like this he had RSV😞 he sounds like he’s going to cough up a lung, but he’s only had it since Monday. No more fever and he isn’t as much of a zombie as he was Monday and Tuesday
I’m glad you asked this I was wondering the same thing addi has a cough but she will only cough a few times a day and it sounded wet a few times and it’s been maybe 5 days or so she stared coughing
