So, it should totally be illegal for parents to drive their kids from house to house, or follow them in their cars for trick or treating. Our neighborhood was packed with cars of people doing this, and it's so dangerous for all the kids excitedly running from house to house.
And just super lazy parenting.
I agree 100% but i suffer from fibromyalgia and depending on how im feeling i would drive slowly to keep an eye on my girls and make sure theyre safe but you also have to be aware of not creating a disturbance on the road
@joanna.davis, that is a bunch! I feel like I live in a different world!! 😂
@lesleyandjustinsimpson Our downtown area has a Candy Crawl before Halloween, with lots of free activities and businesses giving out candy, and lots of churches have trunk or treat events open to the public, plus free fall festivals with food and everytging. Our mall also does trick or treating. There's no shortage of Halloween options here, I wish people would stop clogging up our neighborhood, lol.
That would be awesome! We do have a trunk or treat around the courthouse square where they walk and businesses are set up and Deegan got a lot from there so we didn’t have to hit many houses. But nothing in our town has a culdesac lol
@lesleyandjustinsimpson yeah, our neighborhoods are full of houses right next to one another, haha. When I was growing up everyone just walked their own neighborhoods, but now everyone drives their kids to the "good" neighborhoods for trick or treating. People in my neighborhood were running out of candy, meanwhile people in other neighborhoods posted on fb about only getting a handful of trick or treaters.
Are u guys from a big city? That’s all there is to do here is drive to each house. I’ve never heard of anything different we are a very small town and house may be like 3 miles apart that have their lights on so u def don’t walk that here. Crazy how things are so different lol
Omg this is the first year id seen this. I was angry. Went to meet my mom and cars were lined behind cars. Couldn't get through. Okay people. I have somewhere to be. Just go park your car and walk it like normal.
@brianne it wasn't cold here at all, just slightly chilly, which made it perfect for walking around.
@lovelily If you're driving to a trick or treating neighborhood, park then walk.
Most of the houses in my neighborhood were handing out candy, and the streets were literally packed with cars driving from house to house, as well as families walking from house to house, plus lots of houses with cars parked at the street for parties.
I can control what my kid is doing/wearing, but lots of these kids were either unsupervised or very loosely supervised, and not properly dressed.
@lovelily, that’s true. Plus you take the neighborhood into consideration too. They’re all laid out differently.
I can see it if it was cold. I know it was PERFECT weather here last night though.
@joanna.davis, That would really piss me off!! That’s absolutely ridiculous
Right, I don't mind it either, it was the fact that they were driving when there were babies out on the cold walking around. Lol.
@dazzlingmommy Right? Totally ridiculous. And then of course if you actually need to drive somewhere you can't, because of all the cars stopped in the middle of the road waiting for their kids to come back from each house.
@tattooed_mama I don't mind the teenagers trick or treating, but like, WALK. You're about to eat a billion carbs, you need the exercise anyway.
@moo2you2002 totally different for parents who physically can't walk with their kid, but there were way too many cars for that to be the case with even half of thr.
