Question: Anyone on here is a working mom & their SO wants them to be a stay at home mom ? My SO just sent me a txt saying he’s getting a raise in Jan & wants me to be a stay at home mom...I just don’t know about that...I guess it’s because I’ve been independent all these years of my working life & I don’t depend on a man’s money etc...I like MY MONEY. When the baby comes in Feb we will be paying $1000 a month in daycare ONLY. (Maybe that’s what he’s thinking about )

@tiredmama0917, If I would choose to be a stay at home mom I would like to have a part time. I just like having my money & doing what I want with it .

@chasha2017, EXACTLY ! That’s my biggest fear (you know how men are & they just want to jump into
something) I think before I do.

I don’t think I could be a stay at home mom to be honest. I’ve worked my butt off for years and always made more money than my husband. He recently got a raise like your SO did. Daycare is going to cost us over $1000 and I’m going to miss my little girl desperately after my maternity leave but I’m with you, I like to make my own money. Have you thought about working part-time? I contemplated that.

Make your money girl. Just because u ask for something doesnt mean he'll always have it to give to u. Also, no job is 100% secure. Look at the bigger picture and think about what u will do if he isn't able to provide for whatever reason (sickness, downsizing at work etc.)

@rjmmommy16, I understand but it’s not permanent ya know? As long as you are fully committed to your SO and you have no concerns that he will try to manipulate and control you with money then you shouldn’t worry. My hubby now considers everything he makes to be mine. My previous did not; he was an abusive POS.

@svbrxna, I love the fact my little boy goes to daycare & it’s a camera facility. I want him to be around others & others his age. I don’t want him to be closed in etc. Me & my SO will talk about it later. It just makes me so nervous because it will be something different than what I’m use too

@brookemmoore, I guess it’s because I’m use to my money & not asking for it. I’ll just get what I want for myself or go do whatever with it. It will be a HUGE CHANGE for me.

I was a working mom before I got pregnant, my situation is a little different but I know how you feel. I wasn’t excited to be a stay at home at all. However, I just had to think about what’s best for my baby. I’d prefer my baby grow up with me rather than in a day care. Especially with everything going on in the world.

I would jump on that in a heartbeat! I have been the provider for my family since I moved out and got married 19 years ago. I’ve had 3 kids, two marriages, and one divorce. All I’ve ever wanted was to be able to stay home with my babies, at least while they are daycare age, and I’ve never had that chance because I’ve always been the one who makes the most money. You don’t lose your independence by staying home with your babies. You can always go back into the workforce later but you can never go back in time and be there for them when they are most vulnerable. I say it’s well worth it.
