Hello like I said before I’m 21 weeks I have a question does anything one have any problems at work. From the moment I got pregnant my job has been treating me very poorly and for the past 3 weeks I have been either leaving work Early or calling out sick. Does anyone have any of this problems?
@pettybetty, thank you so much for your information I truly appreciate very much
@nmaldonado26 which seems basically like a state funded paid maternity leave.
@nmaldonado26 I'm not sure about your local laws but federally, pregnancy is not covered under the ADA.
I just looked up local.. It looks as though NJ offers pregnancy disability benefits 4 weeks prior to delivery and 6-8 weeks after if your doctor deems you actually physically disabled.
@pettybetty, I thought pregnancy was a temporary disability in New Jersey
@nmaldonado26 yes, unfortunately, because neither are covered under the Americans with disabilities act.
@pettybetty, so they can let me go even though I have doctors notes and I’m pregnant and have fibromyalgia?
@nmaldonado26 part of my job now is hiring and firing. On our termination slips there is a specific part to fill out and a check list. On that check list is reliability. I've had a few that I've fired for excessive call ins and incomplete shifts. Just want you to be aware that they don't need any other reason than that. I know how hard jobs can be to come by and how important work is, especially when you have children to support.
@pettybetty, no. Not at all, I’m very thankful for you to been taking time
To talk to me I truly appreciate
@nmaldonado26 I'm not saying any of this to be rude. I hope you don't take it that way.
@pettybetty, yes and no because I have. A co-teacher and we don’t have many kids so if I don’t go they are ok they also have an assistant director and a “manager” that don’t do anything all day so they can go in a room to help they are always cutting out hours and saying that they don’t have hours to give us.
@nmaldonado26 both take your advice and I'm sure everything will work out in the end😊
@nmaldonado26 pregnancy is not considered a disablitly.
@lsimmons481, thank you same for you don’t forget our babies come first at the end of the day this is just a job and we can find another ones. Don’t let them take advantage of you. (I’m giving myself this advice too😊)
@nmaldonado26 oh okay. So when you leave early they have to find a sub. Or when you call in they have to find a sub on the spot. I worked as a preschool teacher in an early learning facility with a daycare for quite a while, and even pregnant. I know it sucks but they technically could fire you for it. So If I were you, if you need the job I would try to buckle down and work thru it.
@nmaldonado26 I agree with all that you said. Yeah always gotta cover our butts. Hopefully it all get better for you.
@nmaldonado26 what kind of work do you do?
@pettybetty, I have a doctors note every time I called out but not if I leave early
@lsimmons481, but thats not fair for you they need to work with you because pregnancy it’s a temporally disability. Your doctor should give you a note saying that. With me it’s more mentally stressed. But I had a anxiety attack and I said next time I have another anxiety attack I’m just going to go to the hospital so I can have a record of it.
@malainaheka23, I want to so bad. But I haven’t done anything bad so they can fire me if they find a good reason
@nmaldonado26 doctors excuses to show for missed time?
It sucks! Sorry you're going through that! I haven't figured out a solution yet. And unfortunately my job is heavy physical labor and sometimes I feel like they are putting my sweet baby at risk. Also my Dr is no help because he's afraid they'll fire me if he puts me on restrictions and can't do what's in my job description!@nmaldonado26
@pettybetty, i’m calling out and I’m leaving early because I feel Physically sick. I have fibromyalgia it’s getting worse now that I’m five months and a half pregnant but I also get a lot of anxiety at work and I think that’s making my job harder
I just quit before they made up a reason around me being pregnant to fire me. 🤷🏻♀️
@lsimmons481, I only be there for 7 months my first 2 months where perfect and I loved it. I work at a day care as a toddler Teacher but after they find out that I was pregnant they started looking for things to complain about me things that they say that other teachers have said about me. also every time I call her they’re like oh it’s OK feel better but then my co-teacher tells me that they’re talking bad about me saying that people need to work more.
Is your job treating you poorly because your performance has dropped and you are leaving early/calling in so often? Or are you leaving early\calling in because they are treating you poorly?
I've been dealing with the same. I've been at my job for 14 yrs. And since I found out I'm pregnant they treat me badly and like I'm an inconvenience.

Guys if I was looking at a place to rent on Craigslist and I go to click on the ad again and this pops up does that mean it's a scam?? I need to know because my boyfriend and I have been talking to the person !!
Any of you ladies been on the depo shot and not have a period?
Any moms have WIC and it not been working right
need suggestions....
So at work we have a drink thief. Any time we put a drink in the fridge it disappears. I swear I know who it is. So far he's taken drinks from everyone that works in the office, we even put a sign to not take anything you didn't pay for and wrote our names on the drinks. The person I think is taking them works out of the office so we never get to see who is drinking them.
Does anyone have any advice on products that really help get through the first few weeks with baby? It can be for baby or me. I only have a week left and i wanna make sure i have everything.
@nmaldonado26 you're welcome 😘
