We were supposed to take kids to the pumpkin patch this weekend, already told my 7 yo who is very excited and been talking about it for days.
Husband this morning "Let's not do the pumpkin patch, just save the money. Let's figure out what we can do at home."
You just added $150 to our monthly bills for the next year, SOLELY for your own entertainment. Literally provides no use, entertainment, or anything for the rest of the family. But we can't spend $30 to take the kids to a pumpkin patch, to make memories as a family? Fuck offffffffff.
@joanna.davis, oh my god lord child he’s done lost his damn mind
@damn.it.red oh, he literally thinks I should feel guilty for being able to stay home while he goes to work, because if I feel guilty it means I'm "empathizing" with him.
He's the one that first suggested I quit my job when we were pregnant with our first anyway. He doesn't seem to remember that.
@nomli it's $30 for the 4 of us to get into the pumpkin patch, then $3-$6 for a pumpkin. There's a lot of activities, shows, and other stuff that are included in the $30, which is the reason I want to take the kids.
And yep. Gaming PC. I just got him a PS4 for his birthday this year, that he kept saying he wanted. He played it for maybe the first month, not once since 😑 He's worse than a kid.
@joanna.davis, yes it’s fucking great. We get to stay home. I’ve been a sahm since 2008 but not once has my husband ever held it over my head. If he ever did I’d throat punch him or but kick him. That’s just not fair. You’re taking care of the home and the children which is a job you never get a break from, don’t get paid for, no bonuses, no vacation time or anything else. He should be happy he has a wife that takes care of everything plus puts up with his ungrateful ass 🙄 sorry I’m in a mood
@morgan.k @damn.it.red he constantly tells me how lucky I am just to get to hangout with the toddler all, "easiest job in the world" 🙄
Yes, I'm incredibly lucky to be able to stay home and watch my kids grow, make sure they're being taken care of the way I want. But that doesn't mean it's easy, AT ALL.
Wait. $1800 on a gaming desktop? Really?? My fiance did similar earlier this year. Came home with a new TV....
🙄 how much does it cost to pick a pumpkin?!? We got two (medium size) pumpkins and a bag of apples for $8 last weekend at the orchards.
@joanna.davis, real job? Uhm I think he needs a nice frying pan upside his head if he doesn’t think what sahms do is easy.
@morgan.k A friggin gaming desktop pc. $1,800. He already had one, but it was falling apart because he didn't take care of it well enough.
In my husband's case it's because he's the provider while I'm the homemaker, so he feels entitled to special treatment since he's the one with a "real" job.
For real my husband is the same way. I wanted to go with my SIL yesterday to a local farm that has pumpkin patches, hay/train rides, haunted house, zip lining, pumpkin launching, and a bunch of other fun stuff. But its $18 per person and my husband said he would rather spend the $40 somewhere else because he is filing for disability and says he can't do anything there. Like... You shouldn't even play video games with me at boomers and yet that's what we are planning to do instead lol
@joanna.davis, girl I know how you feel. I know. That’s how it was with us until about 7 months ago. Men can be so selfish
@damn.it.red money is tight and all right now. But forreal. We hardly ever do anything with the kids that involve leaving the house, much less spending money.
Oh that’s fucked up!!! What a douche canoe 😐😒
What do YOU judge
Clearly, no one is a perfect parent nor do we know everything. But what’s something you judge a parent off of or just irks you?
Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. So the entire school had to take a course on how to handle transgender children. For example they can't say girls go this or boys do that. What are...
Selfies
How often do you take a selfie of just you? Not one with your kids or SO in it. Just you..

Went to the pumpkin patch today as a family.
Oh, okay. The place we went was just a pick-your-own place, no activities (which the boy wouldn't have cared about anyway), and they charged per pound for the pumpkin.
That's ridiculous. Yeah, he's the only one who gets an actual paycheck, but that doesn't mean he's entitled to just spend willy-nilly!
