What age did you front face your child?!
@kaela3 it's much safer to keep them rear facing for as long as possible. Their bones, especially their pelvis hasn't formed completely yet. There's videos on YouTube that explain why at least 2 is highly recommended
@vvrobinson, yeah alls it says is if they reach the car seat height and weight for rear facing but I don't think I have my car seats manual so I'll have to look it up online lol
In my state they must be 2 before you turn them.
@vvrobinson, I have before and haven't found specific info lol but will try again
@cr131418, wow that's scary! I mean I don't drive in the winter because I don't like to with my car but I know some days I will have to drive so better to be safe than sorry! I know he enjoys front facing but I care about his safety more
@vvrobinson, yeah my state recommends 2 unless they meeet the height and weight requirements but they don't even tell us the requirements lol
@kaela3, yeah, definitely more safe. I got into a car accident and I was so grateful my son was rear facing. It was on his side the guy plowed right into us. Thank god he didn’t get hurt, I was told by emt that if he was turned around he could of gotten seriously hurt. My Jeep was messed up so bad. Winters are so terrible n I think this winter is gunna b bad for New England
@kaela3, People think broken legs can happen, but that’s as rare as finding a unicorn, lol. Broken bones, cast it. Broken neck? Casket. Is what I always say.
@cr131418, @theinkedmommy, yeah I think I'm gonna switch his seat back today because it scares me and I'd rather have him have 2 broken legs then have him be gone forever if something were to happen. Especially with winter coming
@kaela3, It’s a lot safer for them to be rear faced until at least 2. But everyone is entitled to do as they see fit with their children. They can be internally decapitated if in a bad enough wreck and forward facing too early.
@theinkedmommy, we switched my son but I think I'm going to switch him back... I didn't really want to switch him this soon anyways. His legs are really long and he's a big boy so I know he'll be ready to be switched by 2.
We’re still waiting. She’ll forward face at 3 most likely.
@vvrobinson, yeah there dumb. But good to know he has till 40 lbs to be rear facing in his car seat which I'm sure he won't hit for a bit he just hit 30 lbs
