I agree, chest clip placement is important, but not for those reasons. Their only job is to make sure the straps are properly placed prior to a car crash. And they often will open up, break, or move in a car crash anyways. Ensuring straps are tightened and can pass the pinch test and making sure the carseat is properly installed is what keeps baby safe.
